These releases just get more and more odd. We kick off with Bond having an existential crisis in Jamaica.

Wow, that Dr. No is truly bewildering. It really looks like one of those cheapo DVD covers for copyright-lapsed movies where they use a picture of Joe Pesci from Goodfellas they found online. EDIT: Ah yes... viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13131&p=726558&hilit=pesci#p726534

The heart of thorns tattoo plays a central role in the film. It's serves as a symbol of why the lead character takes telekinetic revenge in this one and the thorn tatoo spreads across her body as her powers grow, which is the film's most interesting visual conceit.

While the film falls short as a sequel to a horror classic, it's interesting in its own right and is kept afloat by Emily Bergl's engaging performance. The cover is not bad.

Mac and Me really got the cover it deserved though, creepy and weird.

Not to mention “original first 7” sounds grammatically really awkward to these ears

This was probably "created" with AI.

I saw that Nightmare cover at the Blu-ray.com forum and assumed it was a joke. No way that is real.

At least it didn't say "The O.G. seven".

I had to check, but there was only a singular reboot movie, so there is absolutely no risk of someone confusing this with the "subsequent first 7".

Your original assumption is correct, as it turns out that the cover was created by a BR forum user as a joke.

Glad to see I thought this was IA and that's because it was.
This being written, it was a fun troll that showed indeed how such an awful thing was so close to something a studio could have commissionned that plenty of people thought it was.

Also shows how all those "insiders" YouTubers claim to have are just them stealing information from the forums.

It's nothing new. I've seen twitter accounts, especially, announcing as scoops the vaguest rumors about upcoming releases in a way hiding it's not US releases (and thus irrelevant to 95% of their followers). Not only it's often a rumor of a rumor, but 99.9% of the time, it pops because someone else posted about it on a forum.

I was tempted to post about the Eisenstein... and then I wanted to see how long it'd be before it did show up.

Ha, I also was wondering how long until Potemkin got posted. That has to be in the running for the worst boutique cover ever.

It could've been worse. They could've put the sticker right in her mouth like she was spewing out a ping pong ball.

Maybe there should be a list project or have a running survey for people to vote on all time worst covers just so there’s a centralized location where one can see all the candidates from the beginning days of dvd to the present.

Give the BFI a break, there aren’t many memorable images in the film
