'Change it' is such a fine, fine song, and perhaps SRV's finest studio-recorded vocal. I didn't know he wrote Dirty Pool. I always thought it was an old blues song cover. I guess that's as fine a compliment as you can give a songwriter.flyonthewall2983 wrote:Doyle Bramhall, best known as lyricist and drummer for Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the father of Doyle Bramhall, Jr.

Karl Slover, a munchkin from The Wizard of Oz. He was also in Terror In Tiny Town and, according to imdb, in uncredited roles in The Lost Weekend, Bringing Up Baby and the Laurel and Hardy film Block-Heads.

I am sure many people who grew up over the past thirty years will feel saddened immensely at this news. He seemed a lot like the Baron in that he was never ready to die even if you believed otherwise.

In addition to A Taste of Honey, Delany also wrote the Lindsay Anderson film The White Bus (based on an original story) and the screenplay for Dance With A Stranger.

Don't forget Charlie Bubbles. Wonder if that's a possible Flipside/BFI release?

Re: Passages
There's a UK disc currently available (link) so the rights will currently be with Fremantle. Plus the BFI have previously stated, with regards to the Flipside, as follows...NABOB OF NOWHERE wrote:Don't forget Charlie Bubbles. Wonder if that's a possible Flipside/BFI release?
...a prerequisite is that the films we select haven’t already been published on any home video format. However, there have been some exceptions to this rule.

Re: Passages
Yes, if it's been out on DVD already, especially a UK DVD, it's not exactly going to be top of the list for Flipside treatment - especially when set against such genuinely impossible-to-see titles as Voice Over and Nightbirds, each of which was sourced from what is believed to be the only surviving print.

Supposedly, porn/disco star Andrea True, although so far an obit has appeared only in an obscure local paper.

As someone who did NOT grow up in the disco era, I've always liked her one major hit, "More, More, More." Considering how clearly the lyrics (not to mention her awkward dancing in this video) seem indebted to her porn career, it's rather funny that the song is currently being used in a Honey Bunches of Oats commercial.

Sad news. Some kind soul is putting full episodes of Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn up on YouTube, one of O'Neal and Giraldo's finest showcases. I always thought each was much funnier on this show than in their standup.
