Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
These are just appalling. Every single one is bad, but here are my favorites:
Live and Let Die, starring Haley Joel Osment?

Licence to Kill, starring Christopher Plummer?

And I don't know what happened here:

And the cover itself isn't terrible, but there is the baffling fact of them releasing both a Complete George Lazenby Collection to match all the other Complete Bond Collections in addition to a new version of OHMSS to match the individual new releases of all the films.

Tomorrow Never Dies cover looks like the EON version of Cronenberg's Crash.

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
This film is getting its premiere in the UK next Sunday on Channel 5. I couldn't help but be amused by the title and was hoping for a gloriously goofy DVD cover, but could only find this on amazon.com (According to imdb though you can contract the title not to ID4, but to I/D[Image of the Stars and Stripes]). That title is still good though, even featuring classic thick font-thin font styling!

While it makes me never want to see the movie, ever, that really looks pretty standard to me.

"Meryl Streep at her absolute best" is about as generic a pull quote as "this is a movie".

Reminds me of the backhanded comment on the poster for Machine Gun Preacher: "Gerard Butler has never been better."

Not Since Mann's Manhunter has a cover so blatantly misrepresented the visual tone of a film. And like Manhunter, this one seems to mine the same vein (pun intended) of the Saw/torture-porn "aesthetics" that has befouled the covers of nearly every horror release for more than a decade.

Wow, that is seriously impressive. This is how the plot is described:
I wonder whether the fact that the DVD and the blu-ray releases seem to have completely different covers is revealing...
A quick check on Amazon tells me that this has become the film's main DVD cover, unlike that BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO cover a few years back which was limited to Asda (Walmart UK).In this disturbingly twisted thriller, a man and woman are strangely drawn together when they become the victims of a sinister crime.
After being attacked outside a club, Kris finds herself back home, but at the mercy of a faceless figure who seems to be controlling her every move. As she begins to lose her grip on reality, Kris meets the equally disturbed, Jeff. The couple must piece together the puzzle in order to track down their attacker and wreak their revenge.

Presumably stuff like this is why Shane Carruth opted to self release the film in the US!

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
I never knew you could have Ministers of Computer Stunt Successes!
Also in the text just beside that, how can you suffer 150% of anything? Did they kill the other side so hard they killed their ghosts as well? Or they brought the enemy back as zombies and then had to re-kill them?
After those doozies being part of an "elete rifle" team seems charming!

They suffered 150% casualty rate. Casualty doesn't mean death, it means injury. Many of the men were wounded multiple times.colinr0380 wrote:Also in the text just beside that, how can you suffer 150% of anything? (Also, I believe Minister of Computer Stunt Successes was a position so top-secret even Churchill didn't know about it!)
