Doesn't that whole mayhem vibe (especially in the building poster) remind you of..."Fight Club"?

I don't like the one with the flaming bat symbol, it makes it look like the cover of a videogame.

That's OK; these posters are supposed to get the fanboys wet. It's all part of the plan.

The film has officially been rated PG-13 for "intense sequences of violence and some menace".

Besides the two Punisher films, has there ever been an R-rated superhero film?

I'd hope that if the idea Nolan was flirting with, eventually releasing an Unrated Batman on DVD, were to happen, this would be THE Batman story to do it with.

The "Blade" movies, if you consider them 'superhero' (and, come to think of it, I don't see why not. Comic book origins, good vs evil, supernatural powers...)

There's only so far you can stretch the definition of "superhero"

I liked the previous trailers more. This one seems to have some trouble balancing the psychological content in the film (Dent:"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.") with the broad-appeal humor (Alfred's unfunny Lamborghini crack at the end). Also, from the trailer, I guess Nolan has no issues making public the demise of a major character.

Scrutiny abounds regarding Nolan's take on Harvey Dent's transformation.

Edit: Aaron Eckhart confirms that it's acid and claims the transformation of Harvey Dent is the "foundation" of the film.

So speculation begins on the third film which was orginally supposed to have Heath Ledger reprise his role as the Joker but which will now obviously shift its focus to Two Face.

Maybe it is all about the toys. From IMDB:
Ledger's Joker Action Figures Sell Out In Minutes

Batman fans have cleaned out New York toy stores' entire supply of Heath Ledger's Joker action figure, within minutes of them going on sale. Devotees of the comic book series lined up early to clear shelves of the $9.99 toy, which shows Ledger in his final completed role before his premature death in January from an accidental drug overdose, aged just 29. An employee of Times Square's Toys R Us store says, "There are none left in the warehouse. You will be waiting a while if you want one." Some fans are believed to be buying up stock, convinced the figure is a collector's item - others are selling them on auction site eBay for up to $55 each. Ledger will be seen as The Joker alongside Christian Bale's Batman in The Dark Knight - which hits movie theatres worldwide from July.
A whole bunch of stills.
