Really? I mean, I know they’ve streamed on the Channel along with his earlier films that Zeitgeist distributed, but it’s good to know that they should eventually get some nice HD releases

Edit: the KL Insider just said that no Miramax titles are a part of the deal, so…fuck

Yes, those two, Calendar, and The Sweet Hereafter all start with the Criterion and Janus logos.

Kino Insdier said that "43 titles will be released first time on BD in the U.S. 8 of them first time on disc."

KI also said that some Republic titles are part of the deal and none of the titles were released by Olive.

As far the UHDs, KI said "We got some major titles on UHD. 16 in total."

16 UHD titles also have been confirmed.

They also have said that there are "a few" that overlap with Imprint, which I would take to mean it's actually not that many, which is nice.

Compromising Positions would be incredible, and KL has already released multiple Frank Perry titles. I’m glad I’m not alone in adoring Young Sherlock Holmes

Actually, with how much they love Reynolds, it could happen

Oh yeah, I'm serious. It feels like the kind of film KLSC would pay attention to- They look in the margins, I'll give them that

The Miracle of Morgan's Creek seems like a strong possibility for one fo the 43 "first time on BD" titles, since they released Sturges titles they got from Universal.

The deal also includes at least one 3D title. There are seemingly only three possibilties:

Hondo (1953) (Released on BD w/o 3D in 2012)
Flight to Tangier (1953) (has been said to require expensive restoration, no prior disc release)
The Man Who Wasn't There (1983)

I could see them releasing Hondo on 4K UHD with a new BD that includes 3D.

(Money from Home (1953) is also with Paramount, but license is presumably still with Olive)

I wouldn't mind seeing Hud get a decent blu-ray, or better.

I believe the rumor was Criterion was holding that one. could go either way, since Kino did release Christmas in July.

I do think Once Upon a Time in the West is extremely likely as one of the UHDs. Black Rain (Scott, not Imamura!) also feels way more like a Kino title than a Criterion. another interesting one to see will be The Conversation, which has just gotten a 4K restoration..

I'm pretty sure The Conversation is with Lionsgate now.

Same here--this seems like it would be a no-brainer. I noticed that a bare-bones version of it came out on Blu-ray Region B a year or so ago but I don't know anything about it.

KLI just ruled out Hondo as Paramount can't license out the Batjac titles, so this pretty much confirms the 3D title to be The Man Who Wasn't There.

KLI just stated it's licensed out to another label already.

Coppola/AZ owns Dementia 13 (director’s cut), The Conversation, Apocalypse Now, One from the Heart, The Outsiders (except for North America), The Cotton Club Encore (theatrical still with MGM), and Tucker: A Man and His Dream with Lionsgate as distributor. The Outsiders is StudioCanal outside NA and with Warner here.

I had posted this earlier this week on the FF Coppola thead. This confirms what FlickeringWindow says....
TheExtras podcast with Archivist James Mockoski and editor Robert Shafer of American Zoetrope about the recent 50th Anniversary Godfather restorations. Here

a tidbit... New 4K HDR restorations of One From the Heart, Is Paris Burning and The Conversation are in the works

KL is announcing some UHD releases from the Paramount deal this Sunday. All the UHD also include Bluray with exclusive rights.

Damn. I'd been hoping for some more 20s and/or 30s material.

Yes, and he licensed all those to Lionsgate (for some unfathomable reason.)

Earlier they had ruled out silents/pre-codes, and pretty sure all 30s Paramount films are owned by Universal anyway (as are 95% of their 40s films).
