I'll be expecting the announcements Monday...

As always, I'll predict the Cristian Mungiu films that are all but confirmed, but I'm thinking they'll be shelved until the theatrical release of Graduation. I pray I'm wrong.

Since the 15th falls on a 15th this month, I suspect the announcement will be delayed. Either way, here are my guesses. Some calculated, some wishful thinking.

How did Criterion manage to make it so that the 15th of every month now falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? I bet they could make more money off of that than from DVDs.

An Instagram photo went up from Criterion with a major hint for BOYHOOD, and possible hints about more Linklater (BERNIE, SCHOOL OF ROCK, even THE NEWTON BOYS).

Don't forgot the Before trilogy, Waking Life (for the fortune teller itself), and A Scanner Darkly (the name of Winona Ryder's character in that is blocked out by the thumb).

Those "fortune tellers" (it's a cootie catcher, dammit!) were created as a promotional tool for the doc, Richard Linklater: Dream is Destiny. It played the festival circuit last year and even got a small theatrical release. It's distributed by Sundance Selects, so I suspect it will appear as a supplement on Boyhood. I'd happily buy a Criterion release of almost any of Linklater's films (I may be the lone Tape fan), but I suspect only Boyhood and the Before... films are in the offing for now.
