Re: Filmstruck
So I've been reading this thread almost every day for the past few weeks and finally decided to create an account so I could share something with you all: a spreadsheet I've put together that lists each and every Criterion spine and whether that movie (or show) is currently available on FilmStruck. It's taken a couple weeks to cobble together but I hope you all find some use for it since you all inadvertently inspired its creation.
If you have any comments or corrections just let me know.

The Black Stallion was on for a short time and isn't there anymore. The Long Day Closes and Great Expectations was a recent double bill banner addition.
They have:
Oliver Twist
Great Expectations
Trafic
The Importance of Being Earnest
Sword of the Beast
Breaking the Waves
Master of the House

Re: Filmstruck
The Importance of Being Earnest on Filmstruck is not the 1952 Asquith version that Criterion put out. It is a 2002 film starring Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon.

Went ahead and made these changes to my list, including Withnail and I. I think we're up to 496 titles (lumping the short films together).D50 wrote:The Black Stallion was on for a short time and isn't there anymore. Aside from Apple, are there any options that will allow me to stream FilmStruck on an LG smart TV?

Now that the app is fixed, you can use the Amazon FireTV Stick to stream using one of your set's HDMI ports.

Cool, didn't realize Criterion had the latter two. Makes sense given their SPC relationship.

Thanks for the spreadsheet. I've been keeping a similar one myself. What is the meaning of the dash ("-") and asterisk (as in "yes*") in the FilmStruck column?

Re: Filmstruck
Added Safe, Gilda, The Thin Blue Line and two Lone Wolf and Cub entries to the spreadsheet.
When I put a dash by an entry it means that spine is actually a series of movies, like Wajda's Three War Films (#262) or Scorsese's World Cinema Project (#684). I put a Yes by the individual movies in that case.davidhuxley wrote:Thanks for the spreadsheet. I've been keeping a similar one myself. I've heard horrible things about her films, and personally hated one of her shorts. But we Dunham in the collection, so who knowsjwd5275 wrote:Miranda July"s Me and You and Everyone We Know was just added to the Criterion channel

Me and You and Everyone Else We Know is a masterpiece and has been long-speculated as forthcoming. She has nothing in common with Dunham other than that they're both women
