I don't remember being over the moon about the July when I saw it many years back, but it won prizes at Cannes and Sundance and is generally quite well regarded (maybe not as highly as domino indicates, but pretty esteemed nevertheless). Criterion has released shamefully few films directed by women, so even if this is not your cup of tea take heart in that box being ticked and the fact it will likely be a good seller for them.
Dunham and July are probably bunched together because of their ages and the perception that their work is similarly twee/precious/indicates something about the mindset of a certain kind of artistically-inclined millennial, but I do not think the comparison would hold up to any real scrutiny. I'm by no means a July fan, but I think she is much more ambitious than Dunham in what she is going for and much more deserving of the Criterion stamp, whatever that even means anymore.
I didn't mean to compare them simply because they're both women, and more women directed films are always welcome (can we please get Mustang?) it's just that I heard people comparing them.

I mean, if your target demographic is men in their twenties and thirties, game consoles seem like a good way to go. I can't understand why Chromecast seems to be such a low priority for all Warner/Turner-developed apps, though. Filmstruck, Warner Archive Instant, TBS app, TCM app—none of these work with Chromecast. I would think that Google would go out of their way to help get their apps to be Chromecast-capable.
I'm also a Chromecast user and am waiting patiently for Filmstruck to offer support before subscribing. While I'm not a developer myself, I have friends who are and my understanding is that Google provides plenty of support for implementing Chromecast into Chrome, Android, and iOS applications. While I can hook my laptop up to my television, I far prefer the ease of use my Chromecast offers.
I suspect Filmstruck was available on Amazon and Apple platforms first because Criterion had prior relationships with those two companies (offering films on Amazon Instant and iTunes they haven't released on disc yet etc.). Hope they add Roku in the next few weeks.
What resource do you check for your updates? I only ask because I'm pretty sure Lola and Magic Flute we're already there (though, I'm willing to admit I'm wrong).
And also I really don't mean this as an insult or anything but I'm not sure it's so urgent to put an update here multiple times a day as titles are added, especially when they're just catalog titles they hadn't yet pushed on from Hulu.
In this case they're both listed in the new releases and I'm pretty sure they weren't there before this week, but they were all on Hulu.

I disagree - this is exactly the place to post updates to when titles are added.
It's nice to get these flagged up in the thread but (and I think this was linked to on a previous page) justwatch is a pretty sturdy resource for new additions- https://www.justwatch.com/us/provider/filmstruck/new

Agreed as well. I think alot of people are interested to see what things are added - so they can add it to their watchlist, etc - even if its something like Seven Samurai.
I do though appreciate any help I can get - as I constantly have to check most titles to see if they're already on the Forthcoming list. Fortunately Filmstruck lets you browse without have an active account, otherwise there'd be alot of issues. I do also appreciate when it is mentioned whether they are Criterion or just Filmstruck additions (and may lightning strike thee if someone posts a new title in this thread without clearly mentioning that its just a Filmstruck title, except for jwd - who I believe only posts Criterion updates). It would be nice if we could come up with some scheme - like color coding or bolding a new Criterion title or something.
Also, the King Solomon's Mines is the 1937 Robeson version (not 1950). I wonder if there will be a boxset of the two at some point though.
