Some high profile stuff on the chopping block this week:

Not sure why these Fox titles are being discontinued.

The Hustler (blu)
Tora! Tora! Tora! (blu)
Aliens (dvd) (blu) *Fox is supposedly releasing The Abyss and True Lies later this year. Maybe James Cameron wants this remastered as well?
Last of the Mohicans (blu)
Slumdog Millionaire (dvd)(blu)
Descendants (dvd)(blu)

MGM obviously plan to redo these for their 90th Anniversary. Criterion has already teased Midnight Cowboy. It would be nice if they could grab a few more of these but I suspect MGM will put out the bulk themselves.

Some Like It Hot (blu)
West Side Story (blu)
Graduate (blu)
Midnight Cowboy (blu)
The Terminator (blu)
Thelma & Louise (blu)
Silence of the Lambs (blu)
Usual Suspects (blu)

Image is discontinuing all of their Handmade Films releases, which strongly indicates they lost the rights. It would be nice if Criterion spent some of that Great Beauty money to buy this library and put Time Bandits, Withnail and I, How to Get Ahead in Advertising, etc. back in print.

Well, I'm not sure that'd make sense, as this Blu Ray was already a remaster, the first of Cameron's redo's of his back catalogue.
As for The Terminator, hopefully we get the best of both worlds this time, the remaster along with all the old extras and orignal mono soundtrack.

The remastered Terminator came out just shy of a year ago -- it's possible it's just the old version that's OOP. It was still available on FoxConnect a few days ago, though it's gone now.

I wonder if the FoxConnect had the 50% sale mainly to clear out old inventory. Some of these titles were available at the start, but no longer even have a listing.

It's possible Aliens will just get repackaged.

Hmmm, what are the odds of Margaret coming back?

This year is also The Terminator's 30th anniversary.
It's been rereleased so many times, even if just to change the cover art, that I find it difficult to believe that the opportunity'd be passed to milk some more cash out of its fans.
Notably, the DVD SE seemingly went out of print last year, around the time of the BDs release, replaced with an extraless disc with new art in the style of the BD.

"Rocky: The Undisputed Collection" appears to be going out of print. It is being replaced with "Rocky: Heavyweight Collection".

No doubt to be replaced by the "Rocky: Champion Collection" and the "Rocky: of the World Collection" in the next five years.

Warner is discontinuing Gondry's The Science of Sleep this week.

Some really big news. Mike Carver's list this week is going to be huge. Echo Bridge is discontinuing all of their Miramax titles. Lionsgate got all of the high profile stuff but there are some real gems that wound up at Echo Bridge. Will be interesting to see which label these titles will move to. (maybe multiple?) Also might be worth keeping an eye on the licensing info on Criterion's Tie Me Up! Tie me Down! once that gets solicited.

Yep, 28 pages worth of OOP titles-- now's the time to grab any of their reasonably nice Blu-ray releases for dirt cheap before the Marketplace makes them unattainable. I think the only ones to avoid are the Yards. the Lookout, and the Halloween films, since they went with the wrong aspect ratio for some reason

Might I ask where I can find this list?

Those are the only ones that are bad? I thought with the exception of Godzilla vs. Biollante, their Blu-Ray releases pretty much suck?

They're not amazing, but for six-seven dollar budget releases, they're mostly pretty good (though I remembered in the interim that From Dusk Til Dawn is another for the Bad column). Like any label, some releases are better than others, but some of their more esoteric releases will likely never see another Blu-ray release and now's the time if a title strikes your fancy. Some examples that show they don't all "pretty much suck": Proof, Fresh, She's So Lovely

Did some Lang/Murnau MoC releases go OOP or will they be reprinted?

"Godzilla VS Biolante" is the only Echo Bridge BD I have. Both Japanese/English tracks, and a long making-of included.

I'd add Full Frontal to that list, given that it includes a new cut of the film which runs 10 minutes longer than the theatrical.

I don't believe any are out of print. Spione and Tartuffe were among the last to be re-pressed after the Sony fire (even though the latter still doesn't show up on their webstore) and Tabu was out of print for a while, but it's back in print with a new edition.

A few more you might consider before they disappear:
The Grifters gets mediocre reviews (though so does the UK blu-ray), but the US has commentary by Frears & a bonus feature.
Cronenberg's eXistenZ
Dirty Pretty Things

The Yards wasn't too bad, though. Supercop seemed to suffer more from missing content. (Only way I've seen either, and only two I've watched so far.)

I'm hoping that Heaven turns out to be at least a little better than what I caught via satellite a few years back.

Edit: Recollect now that Supercop also seemed to suffer from an English dub as its only soundtrack.

The version of Existenz on the multi-film sets is supposed to have better PQ -- the standalone release has boosted light levels -- but only the latter has DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and a few weak extras.

What's the movie like? I've only ever seen the Showa Godzillas.
