Syndromes and a Century is a little hard to read for the average joe, but really, you guys should be able to figure out just by knowing who the director is. I would have expected a lot more Weerasethakul fans here.

So, it's our fault we can't read the title?

Plenty of that going around in the "Polanski arrested" thread. :-"

It's not your fault, I'm just surprised that here of all places people don't know their Weerasethakul.

I knew what film it was right away, but it took a few moments to piece together the letters. As long as the title was clear on the spine, I think it'd be ok, though.

As it just so happens, I did make an image for the spine too, though I never really planned on posting it. I'm not, however, guaranteeing it will make the title any easier to read!

I am very sorry to have "victimized" all of you with my hard to read internet picture. I realized, looking back at the cover that it was probably a mistake to have had the edges of the letters merge into the frames of the windows, which I have tried to rectify by shrinking them down a bit. However, if you're still having trouble reading my hand-drawn letters, I'm afraid I can't do much more about it. Maybe another eager young web artist might step up to the Weerasethakul plate?

Also, I do agree that if my font is unreadable, it is my failure. I don't really want people to have to say "Well, I sort of recognize the picture, so. . ."

Spine looks good. I'd like to see the final scene from the film tried as a cover - the public aerobics thing. I was in Bangkok a couple of months ago and I caught one of these going on, and was mesmerised. It was just like walking into the film. Best 'location' experience I ever had (although obviously it wasn't the same location, just the same scenario). Almost on a par with visiting Ozu's grave.

For what it's worth, Klaylock, I've never seen Syndromes (and have heard about it largely through this forum), but I still saw pretty quickly what the title on that cover was - and though I can't say whether it fits the film or not, I think it's an awesome cover. The spine looks great too.

Great cover for the Rohmer film! I'd like to see the guy who mistakes it for softcore porn, though! He's in for a surprise when he watches it.

Nice one regarding Marquis of O. I'm not familiar with the film...I take it the cover shot is from the movie itself?

I have to say, as someone who eventually puzzled out the Syndromes cover, I can't read the text on the Rohmer one at all.

And that looks like Val Kilmer on line three.
