I can see the connection, but have no idea in terms of your question. But the kid who goes on about the bra is fabulous.

The first half of that trailer makes it look like a shot-for-shot remake, which I suppose was the Picturehouse marketing department's goal.

And he looks a bit like Harmony Korine in his younger days. That's really the strongest thing I took away from this trailer, Wes Anderson similarities aside.

It's nothing like Wes Anderson at all. It's actually closer to something like SQUID AND THE WHALE in terms of the heartfelt empathy it shows to its characters. The film isn't as good as SQUID, it doesn't really do anything you haven't seen before, but it's a solid example of the "misunderstood high school kid" genre. Blitz will veer close to cliche every now and again, but always finds a way to do something slightly unexpected. And there are some very interesting observations about how the fears and emotions we feel as teenagers never really go away as adults. Lovely natural performances from the kids too.

I actually think this film looks like it may be closer to Thumbsucker than Squid or any Wes Anderson film.

Yes. THUMBSUCKER is a fair comparison as well.
