Has anyone heard of a DVD release? Anywhere in sight?!?
It's some three months since I saw this film and the mood still haunts me.
I just noticed that there is a soundtrack CD of his first film The Return available =D>

I asked the same question on the glorious IMDb boards, a couple of days ago. No dice.

There's a Russian DVD, you can look at some screen caps here. Looks like a nice anamorphic transfer on a dual-layer disc, but - no English subs. If you're the adventurous type, I'll just mention there are custom English subtitles for this floating around on the web and it's possible to add them to the DVD if you have the right tools. Hopefully someone (Artificial Eye?) will release an English-friendly DVD in the near future.

Artificial Eye have the UK rights, but as they haven't released the film theatrically yet you won't be seeing a British DVD until well into 2008.Oedipax wrote:Hopefully someone (Artificial Eye?) will release an English-friendly DVD in the near future.

The Banishment is showing as part of the "Film Comment Selects" series at Lincoln Center this month, but, since there's no U.S. distributor, I doubt we'll see it on DVD soon.
