Then again Domino, you don't seem to like most of the actual Criterion covers either. Am I wrong?

The worst actual Criterion cover is better than the best fake Criterion cover

This is still the best fake cover ever.

I think that fake Alphaville cover without the heads and just the neon isn't terrible. Certainly better than the current cover.

The bad 'joke' covers are the only reason I come to this particular thread... without them life would be boring and embarrassing.

I don't know, but there are several things you're doing wrong with the cover itself.

What kind of site doesn't have an automatic photo uploading feature nowadays? That's ridiculous! It's so much trouble just to upload one measly little pic. Get with the times.

Anyway, just go here to view my EROS PLUS MASSACRE cover.

Thustlebird, your cover is not bad. What did it take, 5-10 minutes to make? It only takes another 20 seconds or so to upload it onto Photobucket.com. Probably not a good idea to call out the Forum on your first post.

Dignan, I admire your optimism :D , but I think you are overestimating the power of Blu-ray.

I'm sorry...I don't mean to be abrasive, particularly on my first go-round...it's just that I've never seen a site that doesn't at least feature that. Doesn't seem like a hard thing to include and it would probably make everyone's world on here a whole lot easier, no?

I actually liked the typewriter font better, this one works more with Merry Go Round.

Also, this picture looks like an Antonioni film. I think we need Bulle on the cover.

I know of no message board that allows you to upload jpgs directly into a post. Especially since everything you have to do is to enter a url directly linking to a .jpg between the .
In your case it would be this url:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/thustlebird/SKBk9h ... SSACRE.jpg

Can you make it now?

As you can probably tell, I've never seen l'Amour Fou (it's as high up on my list as you can get though). I'm basing the cover on various things I've read about the film, though I can see how it could be off in relation to the film's tone. I agree that it's very Antonioni...

As far as Merry-go-Round goes, that's another Rivette film that I (sadly) haven't encountered either. Perhaps someone who's seen the film should try their hand at making a cover...
