I'm not gonna bitch about Science is Fiction in light of the fact that they lopped $10 off of the announcment price before it hit the streets. I like digipacks as much as the next person, but I'd rather have 3 dvds of material for the price of 2.

But they also scrapped a lot of the material for the booklet - presumably to get it to fit in the standard case. It all comes full circle.

I totally forgot this was coming out on Blu-ray. That's even funnier

Eric Skillman on his cover for Downhill Racer. Do not click unless you want to cry over what might have been but was deemed "just a bit flat."

I agree Matt, the "just a bit flat" cover is great. But I'm partial to fifth one.

Ditto here, I'm assuming you're referring to the POV one with the skis.

Hell, I even like the one with Redford's big mug more than what they ended up with in all honesty.

The one above and the one with the Redford pic would have been much better choice than what they settled with.

I guess they were going for the Warren Miller demographic, such as it is

Diff'rent stroke and all that but the one they went with is by far the best looking; the Hackman/Redford thing, whatever, it makes sense.

My personal favourite is the POV shot cover.

absolutely...either that or the "flat" one are many many times better than the crap they went with. it's so disappointing.

Wow, I really hate all of the other covers for Downhill Racer. I actually like the one they chose most.

Another (quick) Q: does The Man Who Fell To Earth Blu have the redesigned logo / spine? I always glance over this while browsing the BDs on the Criterion site and wonder if they didn't update it, for whatever reason.

Hey, someone listened again:

I like it. Speaking as someone who has not yet seen the film, this cover makes me want to check it out much more than the last one.

I think it's a great, exciting, interesting cover... and, for once, is the title treatment ACTUALLY obscuring the branding? Certainly makes the design far more appealing!
