My first thought was an egg, but now I see there is no yolk!

Nope, just exceedingly liquidy cream...it's definitely not an egg.

The strongest cover this year? I wish the box cover and the two other's were as striking as this particular one.

Anyone that looks at it longer than four seconds (and they will... its a bold design) isn't going to be confused by that. The size of the type should be an obvious indicator.

Guy who designed the cover was Italian and a close personal friend of RR's.

That`s one hell of a strong month to start the new year.
The Rossellini box set art is gorgeous, as is the Paris,Texas cover.
Great to see that Criterion is back to releasing interesting titles (well, for me at least) and creating beautiful covers.

Gonna be an expensive start to the new year...

These covers were included in the press release. I'm assuming it's a box set and each film is getting their own cover. I do not have higher res covers at the moment.

Maybe if you don't buy it, Criterion will take the hint and hire new art designers.

I like it. The top cover is of Che and these two are of del Toro.

What, they couldn't get Shepard Fairey to immortalize this assassin?

Or else what. You'll boycott the release. I seriously doubt it. [-(

Or if you do buy it the will decide to re-release the entire criterion collection on BD in February.

Your still stuck on this? It'll never happen. Besides, do you seriously feel a deep yearning and need for a Blu-ray Chasing Amy?
