Is that 'tied up' in a good way (somebody else has the rights and is intending to issue them) or a bad way (the rights are such a mess nobody's touching the films with a bargepole)? Or would that be telling?
Well, Hkflix.com had an exclusive boxset(I use the term loosely), which was really a cut and paste job of previous editions. Interesting to know the story of that one. I have the set, and would love to see these films in decent editions.

I guess we're reaching the stage more and more that all the most obvious omissions from dvd are due to complex rights problems, keep up the good work guys, looking forward to seeing what you have to offer for the rest of the year!

Heads up to anyone interested in this, it's going for $50 on ebay.

But if there are indeed MoC releases coming (a box? [-o< ) then I'd save my money.

How's the quality of that box compared to other releases like the box that had A Summer at Grandpa's, The Boys From Fengkuei, Time to Live/Die, and Dust in the Wind? Is this the best one can do to get early Hou stuff at this time?

As I recall, they are the same as the ones in the following set, plus some of the other US releases, but the Hkfilx one has two films per dvd9. As I mentioned, image quality varies, and the Puppetmaster print is average, with a severely cropped AR. Still, at $50, it is the cheapest way to get 8 films at present. As a bonus, you get free, clunky home-made menus! =D>

What happened with MoC's plan to re-issue Eureka's Blue Angel?

On hold indefinitely or something to that effect I believe. The plan was originally to release MoC versions of old Eureka! titles once the old ones ran out of stock but that was a while back so I don't know.

We'd want to do Blu-ray only now, so that necessitates a new HD master (which isn't even being planned at the moment).

@mastersofcinema Twitsclusive... forthcoming in early Summer, on Blu-ray only, but what is the film? Only one grab this time. No clues

Whoever made it apparently agreed with Fritz Lang about the correct aspect ratio for snakes. I hope the film also includes a funeral.

Since that appears to be a Cottonmouth, I'm going to guess it's Nick Ray's Wind Across The Everglades.

I think Tommaso could be on the right track with Shinoda.
It's scope so I guessed either Punishment Island or Petrified Forest

Strange how there's only going to be one grab, is the film really that obvious? Hmm...

Those guessing need to guess via Twitter. I am not commenting on any guesses in this thread. Thanks!

I'm kind of hoping it wasn't my guess. Winning both competitions would somehow feel a bit awkward. I wasn't even going to take part this time, but couln't resist after all this time and no winner. So I submitted one single guess and after just a few minutes the competition was closed, which is rather suspicious...
