So frustrating. If this had been released even one month later than it was, I'm sure BD would have been in the cards.

That was a Cinema Guild release here in the States ... Criterion's never put out one of their releases, have they?

I couldn't see them rereleasing what's a pretty good transfer.

That said, I thought this was just a cute picture of cake initially, but now that I see they made a point of putting the rum in the picture, maybe it is actually a hint? Hm...

There's only 1 shot anyway. And how does one know it's even rum? I sometimes prefer vodka with my cake.

Yeah, it's just a wacky C cake. Someone bought a Criterion at the B & N sale and thought it looked cool.

Criterion just asked Facebook which Russian directors they'd like to see aside from Tarkovsky.

Yes, I am really hoping that means Tarkovsky on BD is already in the bag... but, I might be looking too much into that comment/question.

I think it has more to do with people asking them for Tarkovsky on Facebook every five minutes.

In that light, how about that guy making it a crusade to demand, every single day, Godard's Week End? I think we're on Day 11. It's like the Iranian hostage crisis all over again.

The guy does have a point, JLG's '60s output has been woefully overlooked by Criterion. I'm sure without his constant needling, they'd hardly remember that his final, apocalyptic film from that era even exists.

I hope he carries on until we get more of an answer from Criterion regarding whether or not they have the rights to it now.
