It's a great image, but there's a massive spoiler in the last framegrab.

Is there any chance for a "Trail of Lonesome Pine" blu ray?

Now let's hope they release the Lonewolf and Cub on BR aswell.

Can't believe Shogun Assassin (which I couldn't stand to watch for longer than 5 minutes) got there first, but yes, please Eureka, release the Lone Wolf films proper on Blu as well - this would constitute the release of the year for me if and when it happens!

Toho's six-month policy would keep that from happening for the foreseeable future, no? Toho doesn't own the rights to Shogun Assassin, a Blu edition of which has already been released in the States by AnimEigo. Appears to have the same supplemental features, though Eureka adds the original Lone Wolf & Cub trailers.

Wow, this really came out of nowhere. Never seen this before but Eureka's track record warrants a blind buy. I also meant to ask: the specs don't mention this but are there going to be at least Eclipse-style sleeve notes? Some context would be nice.

Finch, here's a little taster, and context, from Alex Cox's Moviedrome introduction (when it screened in August of 1993), courtesy of YouTube...

Much obliged, anthony. Perhaps they could get Alex Cox to write the sleeve notes if there are going to be any.

Watching the Moviedrome introduction sent me off to imdb to check up on Aldo Sambrell, who I was sure I could recall the name of but couldn't quite place. Sure enough he had small roles in Once Upon A Time In The West, Fistful of Dynamite, Shaft In Africa, Golden Voyage of Sinbad, a couple of Raquel Welch westerns, The Wind and the Lion, a couple of those late 90s 'Scooby-Doo-esque but with more boobs and gore' Jess Franco films that he did featuring the Killer Barbys, and even one of the best Jackie Chan films, Operation Condor: Armour of God II. Most surprisingly he apparently was a writer and co-producer of Ferzan Ozpetek's gentle Italian/Turkish culture clash and sexual awakening film Hamam: The Turkish Bath.

Sadly imdb says that he died just a couple of months ago, back in July.

I am not completely sure that Shogun Assassin will be part of MoC series but it'll get premium (steelbook) treatment.

It won't be MoC. That's an error at play.com
(MoC folk oversaw it though, like the LONE WOLF & CUB boxset)

Amazon.uk has some nice prices on quite a few Eureka titles...I'm "this" close to ordering "Female Prisoner Scorpion Trilogy." How good do they look? I've never watched any Eureka releases...are these "MOC" quality?

From memory, one of the FEMALE PRISONER films is a bad transfer (ingrained subs) - the other two are okay.

The HANZO set, and the LONE WOLF & CUB set are all pearly.

Though even at it's worst, the set is more than serviceable and the films are an absolute riot. That is a pretty great price too and well worth every penny IMHO.

Very sad to see that the first Lone Wolf to go HD is this... thing.

Thanks for the input regarding Female Prisoner Scorpion...just ordered it from Amazon. I've gotta do something, even if it's with the Eureka titles, to perhaps influence MOC, albeit a tiny bit, to still release DVDs!

The Hanzo set looks tempting, but I've never seen any of the three films. I can't turn down the offer, though. How are the subtitles and PQ?
