The Conversation? Except Lions Gate just re-released that one . . .

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
I want the next newsletter to include a picture of Al Jolson, in blackface, getting pelted offstage with tomatoes, and exclaiming "Looks like I'm on the street and singin' the Blus".

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
It is Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me on BD! An owl plus headphones/hearing aid, it is pretty obvious...

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
And if you look closely the owl appears to be making a scrunched up face, making one of its claws into a fist and hopping on one leg! It's all so clear to me now!

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
Look at the drawing and notice the DVD showing a woman holding a child and it appears to say Sirk at the bottom... more Dirk coming or possibly reissues in blue? I'd post the picture but I'm on my cell phone.

That's Magnificent Obsession.
I do think it's amusing that Salo can be a Christmas present.

Great. It looked a little different on my tiny screen then how I remembered the cover.

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
Are we not getting a regular newsletter with a clue this month? I noticed they've posted Guillermo Del Toro's Top 10 on the Criterion site, and today's newsletter did not have a wacky hint.

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
I think that was just their Christmas holiday Ad to get us to buy some gifts for people. Since it didn't really mention any of the December releases, I would imagine a real newsletter to come out in the near future- although the top ten thing was strange to announce today instead of their standard release announcements. I'd still wager a future newsletter.

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
They said on Facebook today or yesterday that there would be a newsletter next week.

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
In regards to Criterion's 'Gift Guide' newsletter this week...
I wrote to inquire about how "custom" the Jason Polan artwork would be for spend $150 or more. Here is my original e-mail plus Criterion's response that I received this morning.
I wrote to inquire about how "custom" the Jason Polan artwork would be for spend $150 or more. Here is my original e-mail plus Criterion's response that I received this morning.
Hello, I received the 'gift guide' newsletter yesterday and was curious as to just how "custom" the drawing from Jason Polan (for purchases of $150 or more) will be? Will the drawing be for a film title in the Criterion Collection? If so, will the customer be able to choose which film title for his/her "custom" drawing, or will it be decided by Mr. Polan? Thanks.
CCThanks for your email!
We are going to do our very best to accommodate special requests, so if you have a specific wish, you are more than welcome to email me with your order number and request! If we don't receive a specific request from you, Jason will most likely draw an illustration inspired by your order!
Hope this helps and please keep me posted if you have a specific request! Thanks for supporting Criterion!
Best,
Karen

I'd be plenty pleased with either Pale Flower or A Moment of Innocence. Especially the latter.

Unquestionably. That's "Pail Flour" for those who need both parts of the pun explained.stagefright50 wrote:Pale Flower

The fact that I can't recall if I've ever seen Pale Flower isn't a good sign.

Re: Criterion Newsletter (Part 2)
Ah unfortunately that does seem like a better fit than my guess. I haven't seen PF... I'm sure it's good, but I really had my hopes up there for AMoI.
