Looks like there's a forthcoming, re-constructed (if you will) The Tin Drum.

Kim Kewman said he's being interviewed today for the new version, so we can at least expect new extras.Cinephrenic wrote:I just hope the reissue of Les Diaboliques will also be on Blu.

Re: Criterion Facebook Page
Criterion replied to a question asking if we'll see any Mizoguchi in the following year with 'Nothing scheduled at this time' (Sad news I guess, but i'm sure we'll see some previously hard to see stuff, even if none of it is Mizoguchi or Rivette)

Re: Criterion Facebook Page

Did anyone ever figure out what that photo was referring to? Some people suggested Criterion might be releasing those three films on Blu, but Fox has announced their own Blu-ray edition of All About Eve, so that's not it.

They won an ebay auction? They were cleaning out one of their closets and ran across a few copies?

It is indeed Tabu.
And they're in fact the first three issues of Cahiers du Cinema. Probably just Criterion geeking out the way a comic nerd would geek out about finding Amazing Fantasy #15.
Or a clue for Wilder's One, Two, Three. You pick.

Re: Criterion Facebook Page
I think you've got it. They also screened another Pedro Costa title at the ATP festival. They probably are sitting on the rights to the bulk of his films. I wouldn't be surprised if they also filmed an interview for an eventual Criterion of IFC's White Material as well.swo17 wrote:Casa de Lava?

Re: Criterion Facebook Page
Oh how I wish it were S'en fout la mort: nice French transfer available with no subs, no possibility of an uncut (or any?) British release. But the IFC connection for White Material surely makes that a front-runner.

Could be, but he's in White Material for all of like a minute or two.

Hopefully it is a Denise, but it's probably the OOP, MGM owned Coffee and Cigarettes considering our luck.

It's either Jarmusch or Claire Denis, that's for sure.

Well, we already know they're releasing Ne change rein; Casa de lava is more than probable then with that said.

Re: Criterion Facebook Page
I think his appearance in the Criterion office is for the Costa film but that he has several titles making it's way to the collection. Jarmusch has been slowly moving his films over from the major studios to Janus and Coffee and Cigarettes will come out sooner rather than later. It's also highly likely they'll release White Material from IFC, so all three answers are probably right. He may not be involved in interviews for White Material or Coffee and Cigarettes, since his contribution to both films seem to be fairly minor.
