Anyone else envisioning amusing scenarios of a teenage Baumbach hiding Kael anthologies under his mattress like porn?

Barfly or Wake in Fright? The animal isn't the most appropriate to match with either film, but they sure have some benders.

Since I refuse to accept that the clue indicates two Kurosawas, my guess is this: the stars around his head classically indicate having been punched, he is clearly drinking, and the look on his face is of a dog in love. So, yeah, Punch Drunk Love.

I think the consensus is that it refers to Blu-ray upgrades of Drunken Angel and Stray Dog. (Most convincing I think is the fact that the image was titled 'wackkydrunkdog'.)

Yeah, that plus the two 'X's on the liquor bottle are why I'm willing to consider that it's a double clue.

Satantango? I can't be right...

EDIT: The cows in the illustration are purposely made to look underfed and skinny, what with their ribs showing....I can't be right on that.

I thought of Las Hurdes, but I don't remember if there are any cows in that one.

Those are Holstein cows...bred primarily for milk. Not sure they'd be the same kind of cattle in Red River.
