Twitter sez "We’ll be announcing our new release for December shortly. Sit tight!" Release? Singular? Betta be a typo.

I can't imagine a one-release month unless they have a big surprise box set in the works.

Could be like last December, multiple Blu-ray upgrades and one new title.

Scratch that, no reason to worry, Critetion just tweeted "We’ll be announcing our new releases for December shortly. Sit tight!"

Wouldn't be surprised if it was Brazil only. If they did new high-def transfers of both versions and the doc, that's like doing three normal films.

Stop dicking around on Twitter and post 'em already. I want to go home, eat a cookie, and have a nap.

And here I thought I was the only one who was finding things to do to keep busy at work so that I could see the announcements before I left.

It's December, the most disappointing announcement month of the year. Go home, Steve!

Brazil's page definitely indicates Blu-ray now.

You'd think the Criterionterns would want to go home, too..

I love Life Aquatic but they can spare to wait until 2013 for another Anderson.

Are any of these licensed from Hollywood majors, aside from Brazil (Universal)?

I think the Qatsi trilogy is both MGM and Miramax...

Purple Noon is a Janus title now. I assume Naqoyqatsi is Janus as well. Miramax has been letting the rights lapse to a lot of the foreign language titles.

It was, under the same terms as Belle de Jour (Miramax Zoë), but no longer.

Pretty solid month overall. Qatsi Trilogy and Brazil are mine! Anyone out there a fan of Following? I'm personally not, but I'd be interested to hear what others think of the film...

I like Following a lot. I think it shows a lot of the promise that Nolan would largely fulfill (or not, depending on you viewpoint). It's better than Nolan's Insomnia, that's for sure.

Following is great. A very solid example of no-budget filmmaking. I saw it at a festival in S.F. before anybody knew who Nolan was, and I was impressed by the film itself. An easy blind buy for anyone who likes Nolan's non-Batman thrillers.

Looks like a month when I'll happily pick up everything, and I'm glad to see they kept all the three disc features for the Brazil blu- and that there's actually a new (afaik) commentary, albeit not a scholarly one. The Qatsi trilogy looks nicely stacked, too.
