It says George A Romero's NOTLD and it is not, in fact, that film at all. It's Tom Savini's.

Well, the remake was advertised as Romero's NOTLD (since it was his story and screenplay) so it's technically accurate, but given how infinitely more well known the original is (I for one wasn't even aware there was a remake until Twilight Time announced they were releasing it) it's still bound to confuse a lot of people.

It's been advertised as Romero's NOTLD on numerous occasions since it's release in 1990, including the 1999 DVD release by Sony.

Inside booklet art - I like the Enemy Mine one better than the cover art.

Oh my god, that NOTLD art is just atrocious.

It looks like a public domain job.

Twilight Time has confirmed on Facebook that they will release everyone's favorite evil car movie, Christine, in spring of 2013.

I agree, The Car is more fun.

No love for the nutty Maximum Overdrive, actually directed by Stephen King himself?

It would be nice to see Christine in its correct ratio though, which is a must for any John Carpenter film.

The (American) DVD gives the opportunity to see it in its proper AR. Doesn't improve the film much.

I've never seen Maximum Overdrive but Pat Hingle's in it, so it's starting out at, say, two stars no matter how bad it is.

So Batman & Robin also gets 2 stars? That seems overly generous! (Assuming it's out of 4, or even 5)

That is correct. It's a little-known corollary to Roger Ebert's Harry Dean Stanton Rule, and it is binding without exception.

Maximum Overdrive does feature Pat Hingle blowing up a truck with a rocket launcher (the truck being full of toilet rolls which explode out everywhere and shower down upon the cast), if that provides any incentive.

Plus the soundtrack is literally an AC/DC album (Who Made Who).

According to Facebook, there are only 150 copies left for NOTLD. There were 500 yesterday...

I wonder how many of those people actually do think it's the original version.

I rather like the 1990 version - it's a rare example of a remake specifically intended for people who know and love the original.

That said, I can't see myself paying Twilight Time prices for it - but it looks as though I won't have to.

I concur. Savini deserves a lot of love for this tightly shot reboot.

Bonjour tristesse and The Rains of Ranchipur

Pre-order date: October 19th.

I'm glad they went with the Saul Bass artwork for Bonjour tristesse.

I think they're pretty consistent in offering the worst cover artworks on the market.

Some are ok but generally I find them quite repulsive.
