The Blu release of Go West/BB is definitely 1 disc.Roger Ryan wrote:GO WEST / BATTLING BUTLER is a 2-disc edition according to Kino (I don't own it), so that equals 15.felipe wrote:I've read somewhere the Keaton set includes 15 discs, but aside from the 13 discs already released what else does it include? Is College a 2-disc edition?

Re: Kino
Sorry for the misinformation. Looking at the individual releases on Kino's site for the discs I didn't own, I mistook the DVD cover for the Blu-ray which referred to the release as a "Two-Disc Special Edition". I checked Amazon to confirm and they claim that both the DVD and Blu-ray editions are two-discs
. I should have known better.
As to that KEATON PLUS disc, Kino no longer had rights to some of that material which is why the restored HARD LUCK didn't make it on the SHORTS collection. I would be quite surprised if they were able to secure rights within the last few months to issue the KP disc again on Blu-ray. Perhaps it is within their rights to include the DVD version again?

Re: Kino
Someone on blu-ray.com found a link that seems to indicate that Kino will be releasing White Zombie (1932) on 1/2/13.

Awesome news.

"Rules For School" and "Troubled Teens"! Yes! Love these vintage sets of educational films.
If anyone hasn't heard it, on their volume 3 "Safe Not Sorry", there was a great bonus that was not mentioned on the packaging: a commentary track for "Ghost Rider" by the boy in the film.

I'll have to double check, but I think this is my only missing Mank so I'm beyond over the moon that it is getting a good release.Donald Brown wrote:It's about time this fine doc got a DVD release. Except for the cop out in the last 5-10 minutes, this might just be one of the greatest silent films (not to mention gangster films) of all time. Awesome to see it lovingly restored.Drucker wrote:Beaver on The Penalty, which looks great.

Looks like they took the same gorgeous Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung restoration MOC used and fried it in butter for a few minutes.
