I just bought the French "Godard politique" box, so if a Dziga Vertov Group set is announced I'll take at least partial credit.

Will they be releasing Dumont's Hadjewich at some point? I had not read about it earlier. It's a very good film, powerful. Underrated too, narrative of the film is quite different from Dumont's other work.

Hadewijch is:
- IFC, released originally about 3 months before Forgiveness of Blood
- a director who we know Criterion has rights to other titles
- has not been released by any other company yet (MPI, Zeitgeist, etc...)
...so I think that it is a pretty safe bet that it will be coming eventually

Because they both have "land" in the title? I guess the Troell films every month because they sit atop my wishlist and they've never been on DVD in North America. They've alluded to Troell getting something released, but remains uncertain if it really will be this pair - though I assume it has to be.

Was there confirmation on Kid with a Bike? I was starting to wonder why that hadn't been released here yet.

I think it would be more for the reason that they're (at least last I heard) Warner titles and that Badlands is figured to be the first of any possible wave.

Does anyone know the chances of Criterion releasing any more early Ang Lee, specifically The Wedding Banquet or Eat Drink Man Woman? I thought MGM had EDMW, but I'm not sure.

For no reason at all, I predict a big month:

On the Waterfront
Paris nous appartient
The 47 Ronin
The Blob BD
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp BD
And God Created Woman BD

Eclipse: Pearls of the Czech New Wave Vol. 2

Edit: I'm feeling lucky. Let's also call for To Be Or Not To Be

MGM does still have US rights for both, but I don't know if their deals with the Asia rights holders would preclude them outsourcing to Criterion.

Personally I'd rather see Yimou's Raise the Red Lantern licensed from MGM.

It'd be nice to see PTA announcement(s) to coincide with Oscar season and the home video release of The Master. But that could just be wishful thinking...

From the way they spoke about it at the Wexner talk, the Apu Trilogy may not make 2013 so I'd be stunned if it was announced today.

EDIT: Of course I didn't mean 2012
