I've just come across this fascinating Youtube video that goes into perhaps a less celebrated, but extremely important, part of Clancy's career - the numerous video games that bear his name. The Youtube video works as a great introduction to all of the various Tom Clancy games (of which I confess I've only played one) and does a great job of tying them into Clancy's novels and the film adaptations, along with suggesting that he played a major role in influencing some of the subject matter that the biggest games (presumably the Call of Duty kind of games) still use today.flyonthewall2983 wrote:Tom Clancy

Re: Passages
Just to correct myself, it seems that she was actually born in 1951 and was therefore just 62. Which is still far too young, but not quite as young.MichaelB wrote:British director Antonia Bird, at just 54.

Re: Passages
I saw that on the Wiki page - apparently someone found the only Antonia Bird listed in the General Registry of Births, an entry from 1951. And relatives and friends have confirmed this too.MichaelB wrote:Just to correct myself, it seems that she was actually born in 1951 and was therefore just 62. This does beg a question - it's certainly not uncommon for actors and actresses (particularly the latter) to remove a year or two from their official ages. Anyone who is liable to be seen on screen - Alan Whicker was four years older than he officially let on, it seems. I wonder why a director, not usually seen in public, would need to do this? Or was this just an error somewhere along the line?

Still not finding an obit, but people who knew him have been noting on Facebook and forums the death of Mickey Knox, star of our favorite Eclipse set.

Your intent is so deftly hidden, I can't tell whether you're scolding me or demonstrating mathematical proficiency. Are we not supposed to mention the passing of certain people beyond a certain date, even if they haven't been mentioned already? I'm a schoolboy. Teach me, teach me.

Sigh. Well, typically when obits are posted here they're a bit fresher than seven months. I don't really have a problem with that not being the case, but given that these days obits occasionally tend to crop up and go confusingly viral again for no particular reason, it seemed worth pointing out that Frank Bank had already been dead for a while.
