Gosford Park was probably one of Focus titles they picked up.

That interview was actually this morning. You can listen to it here, but no real news came out of it.

Speaking of Altman, they did take one phone call and the caller asked about Altman's Quintet, which Becker said he wasn't familiar with.

What about "Tarnished Angels"?

Jeez, everything I want is coming out in the U.K. Damn, already!
May I suggest the appropriate question of "where can I get a Region B blu-ray player for fifty quid"?

Actually ... anecdotally, and almost in every case, my friends have tried and tossed their futile experiments in region free players. I am no techie, so trying isn't even an option.

However, I would gladly pay Twilight Time $40 for a Bluray "Long Goodbye". If one has a huge Criterion stash, price is really not an issue (and Altman, although a great director, gave totally lame commentary.)

I also am no 'techie' but I have a Region A player and a Region B player both of which cost £50 and I have figured out how to plug them into the wall.

Doesn't Europe use a different sort of plug system than America?

How does tweeting suggested questions work? Are you supposed to wait until the event starts?

I hope they clear up that "precode warner" thing from last year. The hint is no less vague a year later

I'm tagging my questions with their #WexCriterion tag. I have to leave my computer soon; wish there was a way to DVR a live stream!

It definitely looked like Kim was getting red in the face when he brought up subpar materials

Sort of a "yes, sometime before the world ends" on War Trilogy and Bicycle Thieves BD upgrades. For the latter, they say they just got a 4K scan that they need to start working on.

Holy shit, they're talking about Gance's Napoleon in a non-dismissive way! It sounds like they've got the rights, even if it requires a lot of work and decision-making.

All they said was that there are exciting things happening on a film restoration level for now. Still a lot of work to do, and they didn't say if they were involved.

They wouldn't be talking about how best to present it on video and probably wouldn't have made the trip to view it together if they weren't planning on it.
