Sort of a "yes, sometime before the world ends" on War Trilogy and Bicycle Thieves BD upgrades. For the latter, they say they just got a 4K scan that they need to start working on.

Holy shit, they're talking about Gance's Napoleon in a non-dismissive way! It sounds like they've got the rights, even if it requires a lot of work and decision-making.

All they said was that there are exciting things happening on a film restoration level for now. Still a lot of work to do, and they didn't say if they were involved.

They wouldn't be talking about how best to present it on video and probably wouldn't have made the trip to view it together if they weren't planning on it.

Becker referred to Warner as a new partner. Interesting.

Becker also said that there have been discussions about Ken Russell's The Devils between WB and Criterion for a while, though no further information at the moment.

Terayama/ATG question went through, but Becker didn't single him out, instead talked ATG as a whole. Hope it happens.

My stream cut out for a second, did he say he'd love to do a new edition of Andrei Rublev?

The way he phrased it seemed to imply that it wasn't currently being worked on, or at least that's the impression I had. Same with the film that EDIT Jeff confirmed was Andrei Rublev

Can anyone think of a library that Criterion might be able to access with one Criterion-worthy animated title in it?
