See, I'm tempted to think that there's another clue here, because I find it hard to believe that they'd do such a lazy and obvious clue without hiding something else in there. Of course, I Married a Witch and IAMMMMW weren't the toughest clues to guess, either.

Nothing against Ace in the Hole (it's a great movie) but a Blu-Ray upgrade of it doesn't do much for me.. I'm not sure I really feel that strongly about any films in the collection getting Blu-Ray upgrades. Regardless, it would've been neat to get a hint of something yet unexpected or a "new" release.

Aw, cheer up, chum. They'll probably have a drawing full of hints of new titles for you in less than 2 weeks.

Another Paramount licensed title upgraded to Blu. They seem to be slowly getting to them all. Hopefully The Naked Prey is next.

All the tough hints come at New Years, this was purposefully simple to save the good stuffsir_luke wrote:See, I'm tempted to think that there's another clue here, because I find it hard to believe that they'd do such a lazy and obvious clue without hiding something else in there. And that was in January. Maybe their MO is to hint at BD upgrades in December and January and proper title releases in the other months, "making up" for the December/January doodles by unveiling the New Year's Doodle.Gregory wrote:Lord of the FliesFrauBlucher wrote:Hhhmm, when was the last time the newsletter hint was of an upgrade?

Harrumph! For the first time in an eon I didn't receive the email. Oh well. Unlike the gent who doesn't care to see any blu ray upgrades, I feel just the opposite; in fact, I would welcome them more than some of these out of left field titles. Just my opinion.

I emailed Criterion about the blank newsletters and got this on Monday the 23rd -
The Criterion office is currently closed for the holidays and will re-open on Thursday, January 2nd. We will get back to you after the new year regarding your inquiry. Thank you for supporting Criterion!

- which means their last work day was Friday the 20th so looks like those lucky skunks got almost two weeks off.

Totally stumped there. Wonder what the significance of the tie is, and what is the dark shaft sticking up over the scuba diver's head...

The drawing really looks like the bathtub toy in this film, which is easy to Google. This would be a nice surprise. It's one of the better early Almodovars.dwk wrote:Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!?
