Re: Quentin Tarantino
I wonder if anyone reporting this story will correct the film's title.AP at Cannes wrote:After hosting a live-read of his script "Hatefield Eight" in April, he's reconsidering his proclamation that he would never make it following its leak online. Tarantino filed a lawsuit against Gawker Media over the leak.
"We'll see. I'm still writing the script right now," he said. "I have calmed down a bit. The knife-in-the-back wound has started to scab."
He added: "Maybe I'll shoot it. Maybe I'll publish it. Maybe I'll do it on the stage because I realized it could work very well. Maybe I'll do all three, but we'll find out."
Tarantino also said he has some 90 minutes of unused footage from his revenge Western "Django Unchained" that he's considering to combine with the released film to create a four-hour miniseries for television.

No Tim Roth either. Did he turn out to be the rat a second time?

The Hateful Eight (Quentin Tarantino, 2015)
This is officially coming - being shot in early 2015 (in 70mm Super Cinemascope!) for a release later in the year. There's already a teaser poster, which will be in Esquire next month. Here's an image of that ad:

I know there was a lot of discussion on this leading up to the confirmation, so feel free to move it here, mods!

You already said this same thing, almost word for word, on the previous page of this thread.mfunk9786 wrote:I swear I used the search function to look through topic titles! Hm. And I created the thread, too! I'm the worst.

If Lawrence joins the cast, what's the over/under on there being a scene about her feet?

It's a great poster - very nice, minimal design that's all the more effective for not being drowned in text. It's a shame that almost inevitably it's wide-release poster will likely be incredibly generic a la Django Unchained. Hopefully, with Tarantino following Paul Thomas Anderson in shooting in 70 mm, there will be a revival of the format; surely Nolan would embrace such a thing?

It was announced earlier this year that there will be 70mm prints struck for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, which was shot on 35mm and 65mm. Then set to open next year is Jurassic World, also shot on 35mm and 65mm, but it hasn't been announced yet if that too will have 70mm prints.Hopefully, with Tarantino following Paul Thomas Anderson in shooting in 70 mm, there will be a revival of the format; surely Nolan would embrace such a thing?

The leaked script was a lot closer to The Fate of Lee Khan though title wise I wouldn't be surprised if you are correct.

Awesome news: Jennifer Jason Leigh has been cast in the lead
And she had some stiff competition I hadn't heard about, according to the Wrap:

The part of Daisy was among the most coveted in Hollywood in recent months, with Michelle Williams, Hilary Swank, Robin Wright and Demi Moore chasing the empowered female role.

Does he pick distractingly bad music on purpose?
The music in Django Unchained, to me at least, detracted from my viewing experience, instead of enhancing.
His movies are not aging well.

Re: The Hateful Eight (Quentin Tarantino, 2015)
I agree, the musical cues have become far less refined over his last two films (what I feel is an overall rushed feel), but those first four films are aging fine.
Perhaps it's a problem with his iconoclasm in regards to making period films. His films are great when he's reaching back to '50s-'70s. Less so when he's reaching forward.
But I have no idea what this has to do with Jennifer Jason Leigh!
