I'm sure he'll make the best of whatever he's given.

Not with kryptonite it isn't. Isn't that what Batman uses anytime he's fought him in the comics? How else could it happen? I'll back out now before this conversation gets any sillier.captveg wrote:No human can physically defeat Superman, so that is beyond irrelevant.

I think there has been a few times where he's defeated Supes without using Kryptonite, but that is the easiest way.

A human attacking Superman while he's being weakened by kryptonite is like someone beating up a frail elderly man. One doesn't need to be ripped to inflict damage when using a radioactive poison. :p

Re: Batman vs Superman (Zack Snyder, 2016)
There's been a lot of variation in what can and can't harm Superman (recall that Action Comics #1 merely said that "nothing less than a bursting shell could penetrate his skin"), but something besides kryptonite that's fairly constant is vulnerability to red sun radiation, which removes his powers and leaves him no stronger than a normal person. Various antagonists (including Luthor and Batman) have used artificial red sunlight to bring him down, though different writers handle it in different ways (sometimes it just acts like kryptonite; sometimes it instantly removes his superpowers but leaves him in normal human-like condition; sometimes it slowly drains his powers instead of working all at once).knives wrote:I think there has been a few times where he's defeated Supes without using Kryptonite, but that is the easiest way.

I believe he's also susceptible to magic. Not sure if that'll get an opportunity to matter with the films preferring "realism".

If you can believe this but who am I kidding, of course you would; Tom Hanks was on the list of actors for Lex Luthor.

Hanks was discussed internally by WB but never approached according to that HR article. I bet they discussed a few dozen other actors internally as well.

Snyder has tweeted pics of the car and Batfleck...

I would have bet money there'd never be a grosser batsuit than the Schumaker era's take, but here we are. Is Batman on a downturn from his inevitable 'roid rage?

Well, I don't mind the suit. It's not bad, nothing spectacular. I mean, it kind pales compared to the Nolan and Burton films, doesn't it?

It's basically the suit from The Dark Knight Returns, which works for Affleck, IMO. The "sad" posture has led to a great meme, but otherwise I dig it.

Because movie titles are never too long.

Kind of a boring title too.

Obviously named to set up the Justice League flick, but yeah, kind of dull. Either way, everyone will just call this the 'Batman/Superman movie' when buying tickets, so no big deal. Interesting but not surprising (as the character is the $ draw) that Batman gets top billing in a supposed MoS sequel.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (Zack Snyder, 2016)
I rarely root against movies but I really hope this one tanks horribly (though I doubt it will)- Man of Steel felt dull, prone to all of Snyder's worst tendencies, and like a terribly uninteresting take on the Superman mythos (like, significantly less interesting than Superman Returns, which was absurdly reverent but at least felt like a character with some core of what he was and what he meant.) The idea of an ongoing conveyor belt of DC movies with that one as a core sounds dull as hell.

Is this really not coming until 2016? Aren't they already well into shooting it?

According to this Variety article, principal photography just started yesterday in Michigan. The article also states that the "...film is set to bow May 6, 2016".mfunk9786 wrote:Is this really not coming until 2016? Aren't they already well into shooting it?

Just surprised at a 2-year turnaround until release. Apologies, I thought the photo of Affleck was from the set.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (Zack Snyder, 2016)
I think the plan is to shoot this film and the "Justice League" film back-to-back through the end of the year (at least that's what they've been saying here in Detroit), so it's likely that Snyder won't be able to devote his full attention to post-production until next year. If this is the case, then the "Justice League" film might follow relatively closely on the release of BATMAN V SUPERMAN.

Re: Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (Zack Snyder, 2016)
It still has a way to go to match Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Crawling, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D (and I bet it won't have it's own theme tune singing the title either!)flyonthewall2983 wrote:Because movie titles are never too long.
