I hadn't seen it before and it needed a revival.

A third of the images are broken in the archived thread anyways. Still, I occasionally browse the old threads when I need a pick me up, as they're still pretty hilarious reads even when you can't see the cover. I'll always defend threads like this on the grounds that they keep board sanity by giving us an outward focal point to mock instead of turning on each other

The above one looks like a poor attempt at like a Fast and Furious-esque cover. And this one, my god, the photoshop between their heads and their bodies look awful.

I just saw this Entertainment Weekly story from 2003. Warner felt a need to change the poster art of What a Girl Wants because Amanda Bynes was holding up two fingers, which might have implied radical dissent against the U.S. military's invasion of Iraq which had begun shortly before the film was released, even though no one had complained about the original poster. Can't have a teenaged girl making a peace symbol in wartime—it could cut into Warner's profits!

Not only do I remember this, I remember talking about it in one of the speeches I made for Public Speaking class in college around the time it happened. Professor's response: "I could not possibly disagree with you more, politically"

To be fair, this is probably the best possible cover for a movie called "Scumbag Hustler"

35 sequels you never knew existed

Quite a lot of bad covers here.

The title of that list was misleading. I knew of almost all of those sequels.

It was accurate for me. Not only did I not know about most of them, I also hadn't heard of a lot of the originals.

I know about most of them. Some of those weren't even supposed to be sequels in the first place. For example, The Lost Boys: The Tribe came from a script about surfing werewolves but were changed to vampires instead.

Can you imagine someone loving a script about surfing werewolves so much that they even rewrote it with vampires to ensure it got made?

That's another thing actually, they turned down it at first because it was deemed too similar to The Lost Boys but then wanted it back and insist on changing it to vampires when they decided to make a sequel to The Lost Boys.

The Beach Boys are satanists? I guess that that explains both John Stamos and their '08 support for the McCain/Palin ticket.

The use of the actually does fit grammatically to be fair (it doesn't deserve that fairness though).

Hey, let's distinguish between the Beach Boys and The Beach Boys™, the Mike Love branding machine.

It can't be a good idea for a film set in the Pacific Theater to have the anglo star looking like he's wearing yellowface (the squinting only makes it worse!)
