Really hope it's Being There. It's gotta be!

Both films already on Blu-ray in the U.S., great!

Maybe Let's Spend the Night Together (1983)

Would tie into the supposed return of StudioCanal titles, Hal Ashby directing, no current US Blu release

Being There and The Right Stuff are both on blu already and don't really need another edition. Considering they just posted a video of Friedkin in the closet; I wouldn't rule out Killer Joe or The Hunted. No idea what the film could be. Paramount disc of The Hunted is OOP but the film doesn't seem to be particularly well reviewed.

I'd love it to be The Hunted but almost entirely for sentimental reasons. It's actually a pretty fun movie. Though The Natural seems most likely to me.

The Natural is on blu already and has lots of special features.

My guess is that they convinced Malick to release Lanton Mills and will include it as an extra on The New World. (Caleb shot Lanton Mills) The story seems to be that Malick has refused to release it; so maybe he's had a change of heart or created a new cut that he's happy with.

Surprised no one said The Black Stallion. It'd be a hell of a catch, and would look great on Blu.

Given that there has been some William Friedkin activity at Criterion as well as of late, perhaps it's Killer Joe, for which Caleb Deschanel did the cinematography.

I would be ecstatic if it were Lanton Mills. I was really hoping that would show up as a supplement on Badlands where it naturally belongs (first films, outlaws). OK by me if it shows up on The New World

Killer Joe is already on Blu, with a number of special features. I don't know why Criterion would need to release it.

Is it possible it could be The Escape Artist? I've never seen it, so I don't know the quality of the film.

Guys, perhaps we're overlooking Criterion's true motives in posting this image:

They did both work with Robert Altman (Bailey was a camera assistant on 3 Women), which would keep in line with the possibility of this being for a release of McCabe and Mrs. Miller.

Zsigmond was also the cinematographer on Images, which I certainly wouldn't mind seeing from Criterion.

They just posted this:

This is interesting considering what Altman would work on the next year.

Apparently Nixon just loved writing to Altman. I watched a bunch of Altman docs this weekend & in one of them (I can't remember if it was the Ron Mann "Altman" or the Paul Joyce "Giggle And Give In") he says that Nixon sent him a copy of his autobiography with the bizarre inscription "To one of my biggest supporters." Altman says he tore that page out so his grandchildren wouldn't find it in his archives & think that he was actually a Nixon supporter.

Loved that. It was in Ron Mann's 'Altman'.

In need of a restoration. The UCLA Film and TV Archive, which handled JIMMY DEAN and THAT COLD DAY IN THE PARK are not finished with
restoring the master's work, so hopefully that'll be on the horizon.
