NOTE: Fox is working very hard to finish the 4k restoration quickly and we are very hopeful of an April release --
however, be prepared for it to be just a little while longer as everyone wants this to be the best the film has ever looked.
(asked in comments): Will this be limited to 5000?, since it seems to have quite the cult following.
Not to mention all the work that went into this release!
Twilight Time DVD Label: We are considering the run-size...ironically when we first said we were doing the title the announcement
was met with scorn- however in the intervening months interest has really gathered pace.
Special Features:
Isolated Score Track
Audio Commentary with Director John Boorman
Audio Commentary with Film Historians Jeff Bond, Joe Fordham, and Nick Redman
Radio Spots
Original Theatrical Trailer

If TT were more focused on real rescue releases like this and not still doing what Kino, Olive et al are doing at half-price, I think people would be nicer!
Should be a good one, TT confirm via Facebook that it is a "brand new 4k restoration".
TWILIGHT TIME turns 4 this week! Help us celebrate by participating in the very popular birthday promotion, which this year will commence on Wednesday, March 25th at 4 pm EST, and continue through 4 pm EST on Friday, April 3rd. Please check back in with us tomorrow at the usual time, 4pm EST, for the title list and pricing details. You asked for it to be bigger and better this year, and TT delivers with a wide variety of releases old and new — if you were looking to plug those gaps in your collection — this 4th birthday celebration is just the time and place.

The Group 1 titles are likely priced as such because most have been listed as close to out of print (so I imagine the others that are there, like CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS, are too). There's a good chance some will be gone during or shortly after the sale.
Two Ken Loach films (Riff-Raff and Raining Stones) for $10 each is easily one of the best bargains ever offered by TT, and even those who don't usually buy their releases should consider ordering.
Question: If the licenses are typically for three years, how are they still selling Picnic, Pal Joey, and Bite the Bullet, which they released more than three years ago?
TT aren't selling them, SAE are. Presumably those titles have indeed expired and can be licensed to another label now, but that doesn't mean a vendor can't sell their excess TT stock.

Just to clarify: Picnic, Pal Joey and Bell, Book and Candle are in the higher-priced Group 1 because they're at the $34.99 price point.

Sure, I'm aware that in effect TT are selling these, just not officially. And even if they were, perhaps they would still be allowed to move excess stock? Eureka for instance haven't had the rights to some of the titles they sell (directly through their webstore) for years.

Perhaps, but how does that square with the rest?
I agree with what you said about the rest, just pointing out that those 3 are a different case. They were on sale for the same price last year when everything was $10 off, and as 3 of TT's older Blus, they obviously haven't been flying off the shelves (the higher price having something to do with that).

Tempting, but I think I'd find Riff-Raff too frustrating with the benefit of subtitles.

As Eddie wrote, there have been 3000 copies pressed per title, and for 3 years, they were the only possibility to see these movies because the rights were at TT.
Now, SAE is simply selling their stock, the same way that TCM is selling The Lady from Shanghai while Mill Creek is also selling their releases.
Not only it's not exactly a situation of OOP but rather the end of an exclusivity, but there's also nothing preventing current stock to be sold. However, TT might not be able to press more copies.
I had no idea how expensive the DVD of the Prime of Miss Jean Brodie had gotten on the second-hand market. I wasn't planning to upgrade but I just sold my copy for $35 after fees and shipping, more than paying for the TT, especially at this price
TT say Richard III is selling faster than the new Ray Harryhausen title (which is a surprise) so it might be one to keep an eye on if you're interested.
