The Driver is now sold out. Based on some of the Facebook responses by Twilight Time, I wonder if their slow ship time post-sale may have been the final straw to TT utilizing other retail avenues. That said, still no shipping notice on an order over three weeks old. I don't care how mom and pop lovable some company is, over three weeks to fulfill a simple order is straight-up bullshit, especially when they have the gall to level such ridiculously high shipping charges

You should try and request a commercial gesture such as a refund of the shipping fees maybe.

My order finally arrived, for all none of you who are invested enough to have kept track of this saga. Shipped yesterday, arrived today via Priority (I guess that's one benefit of living a state over from TT). April Love comes in a transparent Blu-ray case, for those who care about those things

I think that somebody pointed out on their FB page that from now on all their releases will be in those transparent cases! I just wish that the TT designers and producers should now realize the real advantage of using those cases. Without a reversible cover art or other photographs on the inside cover, the case looks just lame, in my opinion. A good example of a lame packaging in such transparent case is their Fright Night release (I haven't bought any of this month's releases yet). Unfortunately, that realization might take years in the ladder of evolution.

Whilst they're certainly bland looking, the build quality is far better than the square edged blue cases they switched to after the original blue cases they used were discontinued. Those squared edged ones come with a depressed front half of the time.

Totally agree with you. I do buy some of those Olive releases, and they always use those blue cases.

So the designer has taken it upon him/herself to move the bed from its place in the film, a house with painted walls and modern décor, into a some kind of cave or a quarry just because Twilight Time needs rough, gritty textures on its covers that badly?

In Twilight Time's defense, the terrible cover accurately fits the terrible movie. Minus the clip-fest that is Love on the Run, Mississippi Mermaid is easily my least favorite Truffaut.

Definitely not his best work, but why not let a bedroom be a bedroom and give the Xtreme textures a rest? I know I've said it before, but the vogue for making everything look artificially dirty, distressed, rough-hewn because there are no other design ideas wore out its welcome at least a decade ago. Is this the visual equivalent of the ubiquitous husky, gravelly voiceover artist a la Douglas, Morrow, and LaFontaine intoning the same handful of clichés to sell thousands of different films?
