I'm hoping we get an Uncharted 4 type of deal where they have copies ready to go and they just send it without releasing the error!

BFI wrote:We’re pleased to announce that the licensor complications which were preventing the release of our Dissent & Disruption: Alan Clarke at the BBC DVD and Blu-ray box sets have been resolved, and that all three box sets will now be released on Monday 20 June.

We apologise for any disappointment that this two-week delay causes, but we hope that you’ll share our relief and excitement at the fact that these highly anticipated sets will now, finally, see the light of day.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Just wait til all the UK retailers use the same shipping service as Arrow's Rivette sets and we have to endure weeks of pleas for arrival

Good news - the "licensor problems" (the BFI's phrase) have been resolved, and the new release date is June 20th.

(And I see peerpee got there first. Oh well.)

I think after all is said and done I think we'll all just be glad to finally have this set in our collective hands. As for more delays due to shipping, I hope paying for quick delivery from Amazon will avoid this.

I think it's a knockoff? Really fast work though, must be an inside job.

Or, for people in this thread that don't get jokes, peerpee (Nick Wrigley) was a contributor to this release so he likely received an advance copy for his services.

Spent an hour with a completed set yesterday. Was a conjugal visit but no sexual activity. Took a lot of photos.

I did some digging on the internet and found them! They've got me all excited for my own visit!

In some regards, it's quite amazing to see that even with a last minute licencing issue, the total delays for such a gigantic sets only amount to 4 weeks.

Will the BFI will see a return investment for this? For something so lovingly put together I hope they make bank for it.

Not all that familiar with licensing myself (Other than hearing horror stories.) but I wager to guess we lucked out with this?

Relieved this didn't turn into a situation of having to destroy $50,000 worth of stock, like what recently happened to Matador Records. That would've been heartbreaking.

That's awful but I didn't know Car Seat Headrest signed with Matador, which is awesome, though it's hard to imagine he'd have sold $50,000 worth of records in the first place!
