Given that MosFilm has licensed several new titles to Criterion and even films that were formerly with Kino (Dersu Uzala, Stalker, etc) - I'd expect to see alot more exciting Russian pics coming in the future. Thus a Come and See or a War and Peace are both highly likely at this point (we'll probably see them on FilmStruck or a Janus tour in not too long).

Twilight Time and Kino Studio Classics have confirmed that they don't have Hathaway's noir Call Northside 777... I think this is the likely Hathaway title.

Looks like they stacked the release just as an "F-you" to you.

As an added "F-you," they retained the Drew Casper commentary.

Kelly Reichardt Yes!.... Most likely for Certain Women which is an IFC film. Meeks Cutoff would be most welcomed as well, but not likely anytime soon.

While I'm going to see this next week at Fantastic Fest, I haven't heard any buzz about it and I'm surprised to hear it will likely end up with Criterion. Is the film highly regarded?

It's weird and fun and probably has the potential for good cult status, but that's about it.

Criterion weirdly have added a page for Marcel Vertes, one of the costume designers for the Powell Thief of Baghdad (who doesn't really have any other notable credits). Could mean a soon-to-come upgrade, I guess?

Marcel Vertès also has credits on Duvivier's Lydia (on Hulu) and Huston's Moulin Rouge.

Oh man, if Criterion has Moulin Rouge, that would explain why it hasn't come out on KL or TT. Such a beautiful film absolutely screaming for proper HD treatment

I'd love it to be for Oscar and Lucinda. Probably an all-but-barebones edition of Mrs. Soffel, though, the way Criterion leans these days.

Last Days of Chez Nous and her early shorts would be terrific.

I wonder if Blue Underground's rights to My Brilliant Career and Starstruck have expired. If they have, then Criterion may have licensed those from Westchester Films.

Blue Underground's My Brilliant Career is OOP, but Starstruck seems to still be in-print.
