If I was an eBay prospector, I would have cleaned them out on those el cheapo titles and just sat on them for a couple months. I am fairly certain a large portion of purchases were some variation of that process

Definitely. But after sitting on them for as long as they have TT and SAE would surely rather take the $8/copy and let the speculators deal with the stock.

A lot of those older titles that didn't sell out before now are going to sit on eBay for a pretty long time, so a sensible move by TT.

Bluray.com members also hit this sale hard. Many who had never bought TT before.

Boston Strangler at Beaver. I prefer the color of the Carlotta, but there's something off about it. Look at Henry Fonda's collar at caps a holic, you see a weird effect also present on the Beaver caps.

I don't get the green leaning of this or Pretty Poison for that matter.

Fox seems to have terrible colorists doing their remasters. Sometimes too blue, other times too yellow, now too green! Or maybe this time they went too blue and too yellow.

I don't know if the TT has the same issue, but yes, the whole Carlotta disc has a weird vertical effect.

The TT sale has now been extended to Friday; good time to pick up some titles for Christmas.

i did not get either oliver or the other, because the uk editions are even cheaper and i doubt they will have great resale value. i am bummed though that judgment at Nuremberg and major dundee sold out that quickly! (although the latter will probably get a uk release sooner than later)

Well, if it is any consolation, they are not selling out at their full price, so they likely aren't making very much off of these.

Their breakeven point is 1500 copies, so they are making some money.

They are breaking even at full price, are we sure they have sold 1500 copies of all sold out titles without sales?

Stupid business model. They just sitting on out-of-print titles with rights license still active.

In for Peyton Place, though I'm increasingly tiring of TT's model and prices even when they put out a title I like now that Kino is doing the same thing at half the cost. Surprised they didn't just pair You'll Never Get Rich with You Were Never Lovelier. Both are minor musicals and I doubt I'll upgrade. How to Steal a Million is out all over the world for cheap and has been for years. Another Woman is superfluous thanks to Arrow. The Fortune Cookie sucks-- Wilder's worst film. Vague recollection of Baby Boom from childhood, definitely not enough to spurn me on to dropping $30. Haven't seen the rest.
