The reemergence of Dual Format had less to do with there being any kind of demand for it and everything to do with the fact there's not much demand for that title; any high profile MGM catalog "rescues" would not have that luxury

Wouldn’t it make sense for them release the films individually? The films get a better exposure plus they make more money. I personally would never buy a box set of obscure unrelated films (unless they are of the same director).

Er, no, as the idea of bundling is that by buying the set you're subsidizing similar films in notoriety that others may find more interesting?

Sorry for the bad news, but I’m afraid with the big storm/blizzard we are expecting here in the city Tuesday and possibly Wednesday, the announcement might be postponed. All schools and many businesses are closed tomorrow.

I've periodically guessed princess bride DF every so often for the last year, since all the LD upgrades became a constant flow, mainly because of criterions comment that they'd want to make their edition standout. Including the book is the obvious move for them to make, but obviously wouldn't publish it in two form factors, thus the assumption that it will be another DF release.

4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days
Lost in America
My Man Godfrey [upgrade]
Stalker
Straw Dogs [upgrade]
The Tree of Life

I'm still confident that Cristian Mungiu will eventually join the Criterion Collection, but they may stall any plans to release "4 Months" with Beyond the Hills and the recently released Graduation (and maybe even Tales from the Golden Age). However, this seems like a pipe dream of mine, as I don't think a Mungiu box set would sell very well.

Only above-ground subway was closed. Underground subway (which is most of the system) and buses were running.

I'm picturing a bold and intrepid intern, struggling through chest deep snow with a tattered scarf billowing behind him, thinking to himself "I MUST get the announcements out on time!"

He finally gets to work and finds out that this month it's only a Solo con tu pareja upgrade, another rerelease of The 400 Blows and a standalone Wild 90.

Haha, you are killing me, guys! The snow is definitely not chest deep but it brought the city to a halt.

Ok, my predictions (more like a wish list):

The War Trilogy upgrade
The Faith Trilogy upgrade
Stalker
Andrei Rublev upgrade
Agnes Varda box set upgrade
Science is Fiction upgrade
A Matter of Life and Death

Well, a predicted two feet of snow in NYC, actually turned into about 7.2 inches of slush. Announcements should be good to go and if delayed won't be weather related.
