Torn about this one. I have all the Bergmans I want save for Hour of the Wolf but if all the existing Bergman titles in the CC get 4k restos if they haven't already had them, I might take the plunge. The reality is though, there is so much else I want and importing has become prohibitively expensive for stuff like this, so it may remain a case of, would be nice to have but pass.

I can't remember for sure, but I may have voted for it on our Bergman list. I haven't seen it since it was up on Hulu, but as a fun bit of aesthetic stupid I got a huge kick.

It seems pretty clear to me that we're only getting the Theatrical Version of SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE here- which is pretty disappointing considering both versions of FANNY AND ALEXANDER are included and that no one has any business watching the truncated version of SCENES.

But a minor gripe! Will happily pick up the SCENES disc considering what a savings the $300 MSRP is for the set!

I have no idea of what I'll do with the Bergman releases I already bought, but seeing this is $100 cheaper than the Olympic Games set is just too cheap to pass on, especially with the number of movies included AND the retention of the extras.

The "also" in the wording makes it sound like both are included, but it isn't clear. Also the default listing Criterion uses for the film is the miniseries one

They mention a making of feature for Magic Flute, I wonder if an upgrade of the mainline release is the next on deck then?

Even during the B&N sale this will cost a fortune in Reais (US$1 = R$3,9), and it'll undoubtedly be taxed (60%) once customs get a hand on it, but it might be the only way for me to ever own The Passion of Anna and The Serpent's Egg on Blu-ray, unless BFI have the rights in the UK.
