Shirley Jackson's The Lottery is being turned into a film. Unfortunately it's being written by Jake Wade Wall, whose most notable films are the mid-noughties remakes of The Hitcher and When a Stranger Calls...

What ever happened to that We Have Always Lived in the Castle adaptation? Looks like it was shot 2 years ago, is it just shelved?

I'm not sure either. All I could find is a Deadline article vaguely referencing it as coming soon.

The Primevals, a low budget Harryhausen-style adventure film that has remained in post-production for nearly twenty years due to the death of its writer/director/animator Dave Allen in 1999, is back in production and will be finished next year.

Robert Zemeckis to direct Dwayne Johnson as Hawaiian king Kamehameha for WB/New Line. This has been a passion project of Johnson's for quite some time as the article states, I'm glad he's getting to do it and with someone like Zemeckis directing it too.

I'd need at least five years between this administration and that movie to ever be interested. It's already like an Iannucci script playing out.

Completely missed the news of this last month, but Pablo Larrain quickly arranged to film an additional movie while waiting for the True American to start production. Titled Ema, it stars Gael Garcia Bernal and features scenes in which the characters express themselves via interpretive dance. More details here

Nothing less than the Nick Cave treatment, or I'm out.

Donald Glover, Letitia Wright, Rihanna, and Hiro Murai have shot a movie called Guava Island in secret. Billed as "a Childish Gambino film," it's set for a 2019 release. There's no official announcement of the movie or trailer for it yet, but someone at a Glover festival in New Zealand was kind enough to put a trailer shown there on Twitter.

Scorsese is making a film about Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue. To be released by Netflix in 2019. A companion piece to No Direction Home no doubt but the big news is that Dylan agreed to be interviewed for the film!

Arnaud Desplechin's latest is Roubaix, une lumière, starring Léa Seydoux, Sara Forestier, and actor/director Roschdy Zem
IMDB wrote:A police chief in northern France tries to solve a case where an old woman was brutally murdered.
