But we all knew they wouldn’t happen Saturday or Sunday so it’s so far only 1 day we’ve been waiting. Last July it was like what like 3 or 4 days where it could’ve been the announcement only for the Godzilla announcement to further be delayed a week.

Dark times.

Someone take knives' knives away before announcements.

They’ve already announced three times more discs than last month. What more could we possibly want from poor Criterion?

And if we count the Varda and Fellini films as upgrades, then 2020 is either the most or second most upgrades in one calendar year. What more could we want? ;)

I guess that takes care of my déjà-vu-like moments I’m having since yesterday. And I am 100% sure they are going to announce Godzilla: Volume II. Everything Else That Didn’t Fit in Volume I

Speaking of swo there was a phantom page for Arthur Penn. Any new speculation if that could be Mickey One?

There's an off chance that they might only release a boxed set with fourteen films, plus hours and hours of extras, in the month of November.

I had a dream last night that they were releasing a MGM Centenary boxed set with virtually all of their silent films (most of which didn't exist, and also the text kept morphing, because it was a dream, so I couldn't tell if Greed was in the box).

I wish that I wasn't lying here, checking every five minutes, but that's what happens when you're unemployed and have OCD. If only I had something more productive to do.

Thanks, but I don't absorb things very well when I'm anxious/depressed (not about Criterion, just a bad brain). I have good days, but this ain't one of them. I'm watching The Big Sky on Amazon right now, but going back to check every so often. I'm beginning to wonder if the Fellini set is it for the month.

When they’re late like this, though, they often post early. Mostly to mess with bamwc2’s productivity

I remember back in the early days of the century when they'd first announce forthcoming titles in catalogues that came with the discs. When the announcement came on the website was anyone's guess. I don't mind the regularity now, but I have a certain fondness for that long gone era.

And thanks to those booklets, I'm still waiting for Cousin, Cousine and Cocktail Molotov. Should be any day now...

I'm waiting to hear back on a book proposal. It's significantly late. I wonder which one will come first.

You should save it until after the announcements so the film is associated with a dopamine rush and isn't orphaned

Probably because they announced the Fellini box ahead of time. If they'd waited a month, they could have gotten away with just that. Two new titles, four upgrades, and three OOP Canals? Sure, I'll wait.

You can read my thoughts here and decide for yourself, but I doubt you’d like it any more than I did
