I don’t think this is a “studio classic”. Should probably go under the regular Kino thread

I really don’t think the word “pornography” is especially appropriate in this context.

The primary purpose of porn is to trigger and prolong sexual arousal, but anyone who gets aroused by the sexually explicit material in this film frankly needs their online activity closely monitored.

KLInsider…
TOUCH OF EVIL will be the first 4KUHD release by us which will NOT include the Blu-ray of the same film(s). The 4K disc will include the three cuts and extras, all on the 4K discs. The separate Blu-ray release will include all three cuts and extras on Blu-ray Discs.

They will both either be 2-disc or 3-disc sets, that decision has not been confirmed yet.

Nice, that's good they're keeping the three cuts, but MoC's additional option of two ARs for each cut is invaluable

To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) 4K UHD announced.

That's the last UHD from the older MGM deal. Still 12 MGM from the newest deal and 2 Universal from that deal (both from the 2000s) to be announced.

Coming July 20th on Blu-ray & DVD!

Thunderbolt (1929)
• Audio Commentary by Film Critic Nick Pinkerton
• Trailers
• Dual-Layered BD50 Disc
• Optional English Subtitles

From Josef von Sternberg, the legendary director of The Blue Angel, Morocco, Dishonored, Shanghai Express and Blonde Venus, comes this Pre-Code proto-noir that mixes electrifying thrills with torrid romance. Condemned gangster Thunderbolt Jim Lang (George Bancroft, Old Ironsides) plots revenge on the young man (Richard Arlen, Beggars of Life) who stole his girlfriend (Fay Wray, King Kong) and landed next to him on death row. Featuring script work by Charles Furthman (Underworld) and Jules Furthman (The Big Sleep) with Hollywood greats Herman J. Mankiewicz (Citizen Kane) and Joseph L. Mankiewicz (All About Eve), Thunderbolt is an emotional drama renowned for its pioneering use of early sound technology, expressionistic visuals and bold blending of genres.

More OOP based on previously being in the "While Supplies Last" sale and now no longer appearing on the website:

Face to Face (1967) (DVD) (BD previously OOP)
The Way West (1967) (BD)

Also, the BD of Savage Weekend (1979) is back on the site, so it's OOP status was seemingly premature.

I emailed and asked and this is the response I got (the bolded line was bolded in the email)
While we do not typically disclose titles that are going out of print in advance, I can assure you that there are currently no plans for THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS to go out-of-print (OOP). That said, if there are titles you've had an eye on for your next purchases (including THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS), it's always a good idea to purchase it sooner than later, since we do not announce upcoming OOP or packaging changes.

My own "don't miss it" recommendation would be Portrait of Jennie.

One of Dwan's masterpieces is Driftwood, going for a meager $8, but now I need to find a bunch of other titles to qualify for free shipping...

thankfully i snagged The Mercenary just last week from best buy. Now begins the inevitable wait for another label to pick it up and do it justice.

I could definitely see them having a sale before it sells out. But if I didn't already own it I'd probably jump on it too.

I've somehow never even heard of this one- sounds like it could go either way from what I've read... safe blind buy?

Yeah, it's an adore-it-or-meh movie, but I'd agree with Dom that it's probably a safe blind buy for you. Defiantly unrealistic, highly stylized formal expressions of heightened emotional states, and kind of an inverted Chambre 212, if that helps any.
