If that's the case, leaving the Italian dubs untranslated is not so unforgivable.

Ebola Syndrome is another one on several of his lists that I could see it being as well.
You could be right as you can watch it on 4K Dolby Vision from iTunes .

It's definitely too bad since even on back channels you can't find a copy with the Italian audio that also has English subs

But to be fair the Italian Audio is being treated as a special feature as they are emphasizing the English version in the press release.
I'm sure that's the exact reason they aren't offering any here: none exist. Which means hiring a translator and making a new set, which yes I'm sure is expensive but it's only what every other cult label would do in this scenario (well except maybe Severin, who pulled this exact bullshit with Devil Hunter, a film that has an horrendously crap English dub, which no one in their right mind would want to listen to over the native Spanish version).

And unless these two films were shot in English with live sound (which hey they may have, but I seriously doubt it), it's really not for VS to be calling the English tracks the "original" ones and treating the Italian tracks as mere extras.
I'm rather fond of Devil Hunter (a King Kong knock-off where Kong is just a naked black man - though Franco claims it's meant to be a Yeti) and it's a shame neither Severin nor 88 Films included a subitled Spanish option. And then the English dub is incomplete too!

From the latest newsletter in regards to the 2 mystery titles:
And...of course...we know you're hotly anticipating our two Secret Surprise Titles, which will be unveiled when the sale goes live. Both of these are making their worldwide Blu (and in one case, UHD) debuts in glorious new restorations. We're chomping at the bit to share them with you, especially as one has never been seen in HD (let alone 4K) in its fully uncensored form; the other, another deep dive into the MGM vaults, has long languished in an incorrectly framed 15-20 year old cable master, an error we have dutifully corrected, and for which we've created an extensive new making-of doc, including fresh interviews with its director, producer, stars, and crew.

Plus, our two new VSA's are jam packed with action, stunts, and kick ass fighting. The first is a trilogy (saying anything more would give it away!) and the second a wild sci-fi/action hybrid.
For the mystery UHD title, has Ebola Syndrome or Seventh Curse ever been shown in its uncensored form in HD? I've seen it be said on the BR forum that the iTunes version of Ebola Syndrome is the cut version.

An uncut HD copy of Seventh Curse has turned up on Amazon Prime. Most speculation at the moment is pointing towards Ebola Syndrome, though I'm quietly hoping it's something else as I found that film to be too much unpleasantness with not enough payoff.

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but it occurs to me that 2022 is their 10 year anniversary. I have to assume they'll have something special in store to celebrate that milestone as well.

Edit: I was mistaken. It was founded in 2012 but 2013 is when they began to release stuff (those 5 years discs came out in 2018).

Second secret title: The Invisible Maniac (MGM).

Hints: and the other, a long overlooked American horror supernatural gem that we're proudly bring to BD for the first time. We can basically guarantee that you're not gonna be disappointed… …plus a no-less nuts, never on disc piece of American horror sleaze, lovingly restored for Blu-ray. …brutal [supernatural] revenge… …the other, another deep dive into the MGM vaults, has long languished in an incorrectly framed 15-20 year old cable master (Cinemax), an error we have dutifully corrected, and for which we've created an extensive new making-of doc, including fresh interviews with its director, producer, stars, and crew… One is a hidden gem from the direct-to-video era with one of the wildest takes on a 'tried and true' exploitation narrative, and comes to BD for the first time ever…

Adam Rifkin stated on the latest Best Movies Never Made podcast that his film THE INVISIBLE MANIAC is finally coming to Blu-ray from a 4K scan and that he couldn't go into more but that an announcement would be coming very soon.

Based on some Blu-ray.com forum members finding art on Mondo Digital's site, some of the mystery titles are Tiger Claws 1-3, TC 2000, Ebola Syndrome, and Steel and Lace.

Hmmm, I wonder if we are looking at another Django situation, as Synapse has the US rights to the film?

They just have the blu-ray. Isn't this similar to Kino/Criterion?

I doubt it, if Synapse is releasing it on Blu-ray, then they most likely have all optical media rights (given the situation with the film's director, there would be no Blu-ray from Synapse if they had to renegotiate for format.)

I am curious to see what happens.

I’ve not seen the Billy Blanks TC-2000. Could there be any hope for his two buddy cop films with Roddy Piper, Tough & Deadly and Back in Action?

Some more teases from Vinegar Syndrome's Peekarama line, according to their website: "This year will bring 8 releases which, in addition to new restorations of films by Roberta Findlay AND Doris Wishman, will include the Blu-ray debut of WTF gems like THE BEAST IN SPACE (1980) and Jean-Francois Davy’s EXHIBITION series."

It is funny to me that Vinegar Syndrome's yearly package price goes up, but you get less because they keep spinning off sub-labels: Peekarama, VSA, VSU, VSP, etc.

I think they said 38 releases in the subscription so you aren't really getting less. Plus you get 50% coupons for all those so you can pick and choose.

As for the price increase it seems to be due to doing more UHDs and the higher cost of shipping and materials. They also said they might actually end up doing more UHDs then they are promising.

Edit: also regarding Thriller it sounds like Synapse doesn't actually have the license for Thriller and I assume that's why VS emphasizes having exclusive rights from Christofer Vibenius on their website

Have they said if it is going to be both versions of Thriller or just one or other of them?

No, Synapse has the US rights to the film. Vibenius sold them to a company and Synapse bought that company. VS are emphasizing that they licensed it from Vibenius because he had seller remorse about his deal with the first company and has been denying the fact that Synapse owns the US rights to the film.

Oh interesting. Sorry, I didn't know a lot of that backstory. I guess since I'm doing the 2022 subscription I hope VS is able to get their version out. I don't care if I end up not getting it but it'll be interesting to see what happens.
