Yep, there's most definitely a crossover between steelbook collectors and horror movie fans, particularly the low budget, thrashy gore stuff.

Ironically, I think video game steelbooks are pretty good, if on the more minimalist side of things.

If that's a steelbook, then surely the bloody ear should be a fridge magnet, not part of a slipcase?yoloswegmaster wrote: Sat Oct 08, 2022 11:24 pm That picture doesn't capture the most essential part of the steelbook design:

If it was a Titans of Cult release, it'd definitely would have been a magnet.

I'm realising that, as with much in life, there is an appropriate Tim Rogers quote relating to this.soundchaser wrote: Sun Oct 09, 2022 8:09 pm Ironically, I think video game steelbooks are pretty good, if on the more minimalist side of things.

Not a new one so maybe it's a known one already but this one made me think of this thread.

I believe L'eternel mirage was the French title for A Ship Bound for India

I kind of like that! A much more poetic title (though better than the film deserves).

Follow up on that Bergman set : the spines are also worthwhile.
Also : there's a Chabrol set that is only vaguely better though at least the people on it don't look like Coneheads.

This thread had me crying with laughter. I thought this cover from 2021 was particularly poor:

The StudioCanal release was at least a bit better.

I cannot look at that cover without imagining the non-wolf creature either doing a "Heeere's Johnny!" or an incredibly camp "Ta-daaaaahhh!"

I looked up a trailer and can confirm that this is, in fact, a live-action film and not a feature-length early 2000s videogame cutscene.
