Oh, and as for book recs, the best books I know about experimental cinema are the five volumes of Scott MacDonald's A Critical Cinema. These comprise long-form interviews with dozens of major filmmakers that get deep into their aesthetics and practice, and Macdonald's in-depth introductions to each interview provide a magnificent survey of several decades of vital alternative filmmaking. Most of the major figures of American experimental cinema from the 50s to the 90s are covered, and if they made flicker films, they're discussed.
Thanks zedz, much appreciated!

zedz, which Garrel do you recommend the most? I see a Blu/DVD three-pack but they have a lot of other discs. I've seen Le Lit de la Vierge and Le Révélateur and liked both
Both of those films would be among my top picks. Of the BluRays, La Cicatrice interieure - a crazy, gorgeous film.
Just jumping in here to say I'd also cast a strong vote for L'enfant secret, in case you haven't seen it – it's a mesmerisingly beautiful film in the intersection of its images and music, and for me one of the best releases Re:Voir has done.

From Garrel, Elle a passé tant de temps sous les sunlights is also planned on BD. I don't have the release date yet but review discs are available and it looks pretty good.

The text on the website says "through December", so looks like we have some breathing space!

Also, as a warning, it seems like the free shipping for orders over 100 euros doesn't extend to international postage – or at least not to Australia, if I'm reading the options on the checkout page correctly.

Re:voir customer service wrote:This is strange. I had another customer with the same problem, but other customers had no problems. I can't seem to figure it out. I would suggest clearing your browser cache for our site and trying to place the order again. If that doesn't work and the site charges you for postage, I can refund you the shipping costs. Really sorry for the inconvenience. We will be launching a new site in early 2023 that should fix all these bugs.

Thanks in advance for your patience.
He also says he can manually add the new Garrel BD to an order at the sale price if it doesn't happen to be announced before the end of the sale.

I'm open to doing a group buy for anyone that only wants a few titles and is falling below the 100 euro threshold. If you're interested, please let me know today

Does the free shipping offer extend to the US? I can't figure out how to apply it. Is there a promo code I should be entering?

Yes, it extends to the U.S. It's supposed to apply automatically if your order exceeds 100 euros (it will show up in your cart as "Free shipping over 100euros"). It's not working for some people but my contact there assures me he can fix it if it doesn't work for you

The free shipping wasn’t showing up for items in my cart until about an hour ago, and I didn’t even have to clear it first to reset, so they must be actively working out some kinks right now

Big news: Michael Snow on blu-ray.
We are happy to announce the release of a new edition of a film previously released in our catalog, Micheal Snow's 1981 feature-length "Presents". This is a Blu-ray/DVD combo release made from remastered in 4K from the original 16mm film negatives.

Important information regarding the free shipping offer currently running: it only applies once per account/customer.
This is specified on the "terms and conditions of use" page of the website.

"Some of [Philippe Garrel's] rare early films are on the way"

I suppose most of his films could be considered rare depending on your perspective but I wonder if this might mean Le Berceau de cristal, Voyage au jardin des morts, and/or Athanor - which have been particularly hard to see.

For a moment, I thought we might be blessed with a restoration of Sink or Swim and/or Hide and Seek but I'm guessing that that this is a documentary portrait of Friedrich

All the Cinexpérimentaux discs I've seen have included a few bonus films directed by the subject of the documentary

It sure is difficult to navigate their site and find out what, exactly, is on Blu-ray! Is there a regularly updated master list of their Blu-ray releases? I'm pleased at the discs I've bought - all save the Jonas Mekas set were blind purchases - but it sure is a hassle to figure out what to look for.
