I’m slowly making my way through the exhaustive supplements, but can honestly say that the care put into the gorgeous and insightful hardcover book, the script, the beautiful transfer, and the inclusion of the China Lake, so far make SS’s deluxe Hitcher set my disc of the year.

They teased The Coffee Table for 2025 on Facebook. Whatever. So long as upgrades for Southern Comfort and Possession are coming, too.

...and Assault on Precinct 13!

Possession 4K has been confirmed, FWIW. In fact, they posted about it in August 2023, so guessing it'll appear in the new year. Still waiting for Titane though, and others that were promised (Dead Man's Shoes, The House of the Devil).

How weird it is that the phrase "approved by Director David Cronenberg" makes my heart sink. Still hoping these restore the previous color scheme.

Interesting that they are dated for March 31. The Blair Witch replacements are currently dated for the second week of February. Maybe we still get announcements for January and February.

Second Sight mentioned on Facebook that they can't find elements suitable enough for a new 4K restoration of Dead Man's Shoes so it'll be a Blu-Ray only.

one day this masterful label will tackle a title I like again. can't wait for whatever it may be

I'm surprised Cronenberg didn't do any material for either of these films, considering he didn't for the Criterions of either too

Like Scorsese, he used to contribute commentaries to all of his films but has stopped for whatever reason. I really wish he’d recorded some for Maps to the Stars and M. Butterfly

SS can't find the sufficient materials to warrant a Dead Man's Shoes 4k so only a blu ray will be forthcoming.

Glad, by the way, to see that they have a focus on these gritty Brit revenge films, not only Dead Man's Shoes but the superb Bull as well which has been available for a while in a Limited Edition.

I'd love it if they could do an edition of A Good Woman Is Hard To Find some time, which has a German Blu-ray available but it would be great to see that get its due in the UK.

I'm very curious as to how the anamorphic enhancement of the 1.66 makes the film look.

Too bad Criterion couldn't have gotten ahold of this, particularly since their transfer of "Fat Girl" (made the same year) is superlative, and I think they're both great films ("Brief Crossing" being my favorite).

Has anybody else seen the Second Sight?

I concur, this is quite a release, it’s difficult to imagine a more exquisite package. If anyone at all is interested in making movies, the extras include some great stories on the making of, and life lessons in general. C Thomas Howell doesn’t hold back a thing, which is really refreshing.

Having just watched Dead Poets Society (beautiful quality on my Sony A95L) for the first time on YouTube, John Seale’s cinematography was enough of a selling point. It looks stunning, and the sounds great. Highly recommended.

Could anyone who got the LE of The Brood please comment on the quality of the printed material? I'm on the fence given past negative feedbacks toward their fat editions and considering getting the plain edition instead, unless the book somehow proved essential.
