including the original French-language version of Quick Change
Is Hold-Up worth seeing? I've had it in my queue for a while but can't imagine it holding up to Quick Change

I had no idea it was a remake! Great cast in it at any rate

Let It Ride would be cool
God, I love that film so much. Unbelievable performances from Dreyfuss and Garr
This was fun, thanks primarily to Dreyfuss' go-for-broke perf (handily one of his best) and a rather audacious premise followed through to the end without compromise. You have to respect a film that demands you leave your expectations for a morality tale at the door and never wilts on that agenda!

I watched it again after seeing the uptick in discussion here, and mostly stand by what I wrote but I wouldn’t be hurt if Kino or someone else put it out either. The movie was a bomb but under what steam it was made at all really puts in perspective how things have changed.

The English Patient is forthcoming in 2025 according to Bill Hunt.

As it just so happens, Binoche and Fiennes were in the Criterion closet very recently. I'd been hoping foolishly that she'd been asked to talk about The Taste of Things instead for a BD and 4K release (IFC only released on DVD in the US).

If I’m not mistaken, The English Patient was previously released by Criterion as a laserdisc. I could be wrong.

A movie that was so overhated in its time that it’s become underrated. Considering its budget, it looks absolutely incredible

I’m also a rare fan on this board. It’s a great ode to classic epic melodramas

What a weird coincidence that he announces this news right after the Closet video with Binoche and Fiennes drops, which was done as a part of the press tour they were doing for The Return. I'm not saying that they aren't going to release it but I am saying that Bill Hunt is not as credible as he used to be.

To be fair to Bill Hunt, he’s broken news on some Criterion titles recently. He had advance word on The Fisher King, Thelma & Louise, and No Country for Old Men before they were officially announced.

He's also said that Criterion were going to release Inland Empire and Amadeus on 4K, as well as Manhunter being released by KL (even though the Insider had outright denied it multiple times).

Didn't remember any of those items. I thought Hunt might have speculated that Criterion might be doing Amadeus; not outright announcing Criterion would be releasing the film.

Yes, I thought the same. Hunt also just called NCFOM.
