Re: Milestone
Danny Glover is out here producing Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Lucretia Martel movies, but he can’t help scare up some coin for his old collaborator?

Re: Milestone
It's probably not that simple. When Lincoln Center honored Glover's production company a few years ago, one of two films he attended was To Sleep with Anger (possibly the only film in the program that didn't have anything to do with his producing work) and he had nothing but nice things to say about Burnett. I'm sure he'd produce a new Burnett film if he could, but what manages to make it all the way through (i.e. find investors who are willing to commit) is all we ever see.

He spent a big chunk of his Lethal Weapon 2 salary on To Sleep with Angerhearthesilence wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 7:46 pmIt's probably not that simple. Danny Glover has made interesting investments. He used to have a really good French fries joint here in Los Angeles

Re: Milestone
My favorite thing to come out of any Lethal Weapon movie is the scene where Glover goes to the South African embassy, knowing full well how they'd react to his request - doesn't feel that removed from something he'd do in real life.

Danny Glover is a hero who puts in way more work for important causes than essentially any other Hollywood activist (many of whom don't deserve that label). Even if he has blinders on when it comes to some repressive Latin American regimes.

I wasn't going to say anything, but it was a little embarrassing to hear him talk about his "good friend Hugo Chávez." Chávez has been dead for a while so at this point it's not worth complaining about.pistolwink wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 9:37 pmDanny Glover is a hero who puts in way more work for important causes than essentially any other Hollywood activist (many of whom don't deserve that label).
