I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt after Primal and the leaked Popeye feature

It is frustrating how bad his feature career is given how amazing his television work is. With Dexter, Samurai Jack, and Primal he’s clearly one of the best visual artists alive today. His contributions to others’ work as well shows off his genius, but those dumb hotel movies and now this makes me really wonder where the disconnect is.

Well, Cameron Crowe experienced the “Saturn return”/apotheosis of all career downfalls, as he had a failed television program, Broadway show, AND feature film in short order

Tron: Ares with Nine Inch Nails doing the scoring duty this time. Only fifteen years between entries this time, so they're speeding up! (Although I guess the timeframe depends on the point at which Disney goes through a crisis period too, that forces them to have to 'do a Tron')

Man, for anyone familiar with Hartley's '90s films and their crisp, distinctive visual style, this indifferently-framed digital blandness is really depressing.

Aziz Ansari’s comeback starring Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves, Good Fortune, actually looks pretty good? I guess we can use all the class consciousness we can get these days

A new trailer for Spike Lee's Highest 2 Lowest. This and the previous teaser don't show one important premise in Kurosawa's High and Low. Wonder if they decided not to use it or simply hide it until the release.

James L. Brooks' new film in 15 years, Ella McCay, starring Margot Robbie lookalike Emma Mackey and produced by 20th Century Studios.

Another Margot Robbie lookalike Samara Weaving stars in another 20th Century Studios film, yet another getaway car driver movie, Eenie Meanie.

Neon is distributing movie review YouTuber Chris Stuckman's directorial debut, Shelby Oaks (red band trailer), executive produced by Mike Flanagan.

Not quite a trailer but still a preview of sorts: supercut of interviewees for You Fuckers Figure It Out: A Jason Molina Story, a documentary about the late artist of Songs: Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co. fame. Website with more information about the project, its current status, and its director here.

Neon also acquired Exit 8 for a 2026 theatrical release. I believe Umbrella is screening it in Aussie cinemas before this year is over.
